Nice place

The prices are ok for the services you get (accomodation, breakfast, barbecue), our room was very spaceous and clean with a big bathroom and a nice view to the mountains.
Be aware that you can have only breakfast provided but you can rent the barbecue for about 5€ and you also have a shared kitchen, but it is outside the villa.
The main disadvantage of the villa is the access (very narrow and inclined road for about 500m from the main road). It is difficult for unexperienced drivers to get there and park in the yard. Also the cars can be parked only in straight line so, if you want to leave early, the others have to move their cars.

Nice host and clean accomodation

+++ : very nice host, rooms very clean and spacious, very good and diverse breakfast, possibility of cooking/making barbeque using a shared kitchen with everything you need at your disposal
- - -: there was a smell in the room (probably from a pipe), heating system of the shared kitchen can be improved

Nice vila in the nowhere

Wery nice villa in a unexpected location. Nice and clean rooms very friendly host and good breakfast . Perfect for resting few days in a quaiet area or as base for regional trips.No elevator, but will get help from the host, and bad road from the main road to the villa . Good experience

Not recommended if you want to have intimacy

We are a group of several families and wanted to have a disconnecting relaxed weekend at Malaia, to relax and celebrate part of our friends who recently had their birthdays. We chose "Casa Altfel" mainly because it had great ratings, seemed ok in terms of location and looked very nice and clean.
PROs: it was indeed nice and clean (bathroom, sheets, towels etc.), the hosts are okay, friendly and there to help if any questions
CONs: 1) We didn't have the intimacy we expected when we booked all the house (even if we were fewer than the vila's capacity), as the host stayed with us the entire weekend (literally, they were present almost all the time) and this was never communicated to us when we did the booking. 2) there was a strange smell all around the house, we initially thought it was food/cooking but we identified it in certain rooms as well - it could have been due to sanitation/pipes). 3) there was dog hair all around the living room (we all like animals, but this was too much), 4)the kitchen that is made available to guests in case you want to cook is outside the house, in a separate room/annex
All in all, we didn't feel very confortable and we most likely will not return to this location.

All details related to your trip were actually discussed with the organizer and he mentioned at the end that he felt like home, thanking for our services.

better options in the area

I stayed one weekend here when going skiing at Transalpina and I just can't find any reason for which I should give them a high grade. the place is ok but there are so many downs to it. It smelled so bad, it was extremely hot in the rooms, you could hear everything happening on the hallway, the lobby that is a place for everybody to use was not at all welcoming. But these are just some facts, the most inconvenient was that they had only breakfast option in an area without restaurants, so we had to drive a lot to have dinner. still, when we stayed, there were people for whom they prepared dinner for without any option for us to join (probably they were friends). breakfast was ok and rooms were clean as plus. Still, there are better places and even cheaper to stay in the area. I don't deny that the host was friendly but it did not compensate all the other downsides.
