Beautiful location with lots of charm
Excellent food and so nicely presented, the best table of my stay in Rwanda. Balanced value for money, which is rare here. With of course the sublime Lake Kivu as a backdrop that can be enjoyed from every place. In short, everything was perfect.

A hidden gem on Lake Kivu - absolutely perfect
Ivan, the Belgian owner, welcomed us with such warmth (along with his two adorable dogs!) that we immediately felt at home - but in the most surreal and beautiful setting imaginable.
The villa itself is stunning - beautiful architecture with impeccable finishes, an infinity pool overlooking the lake, and direct access to the water through gorgeous gardens. But what really sets this place apart is the view - it’s simply breathtaking and almost unreal.
The food was another highlight. Both breakfast and dinner were incredible - the chef is absolutely top-notch, and the wine selection is excellent. Every meal was a treat.
The staff was attentive without being intrusive, creating that rare “feels like home” atmosphere while you’re surrounded by such natural beauty.
Activities are available (boat trips, kayaking, etc.) but honestly, we were just as happy relaxing by the pool and soaking in the views.
If you’re looking for a peaceful, luxurious escape on Lake Kivu with exceptional hospitality, Umurobyi Lodge is the place. Highly recommended!

Staying in the lodge with king-size bed and magisterial views of Lake Kivu is wonderful.
Enjoy a canoe trip to Amahoro Island, planted with fruits and vegetables.
Sit down and read in the green lusthof, or jump into the blissful pool.
The cook and wait staff will spoil you with actual flavor bombs on your plate.
