Good and centrally located hotel

This 4 star hotel is a bit backdated. The interior is no longer belonging to this era, on the other hand everything is still working fine. People at the reception are very friendly and helpful. The hotel is centrally located and due to the fact it’s located in a dead end street, there’s no street noise from traffic nearby.

A split between tired hotel and do-your-best service

This hotel is comfortable and very well located. However, It's old, and not in the best sense of the word. Indeed the building has its importance and history, but as a hotel it is not improved enough. Our suit had a ridiculously big sitting area with a fantastic amount of furniture. (We joked that we are going to call a meeting of the socialistic party.)
Nonetheless, I could see the colorful sunrise right from my bed between trees and churches, and that's a treat.
The plumbing is only for those of you who really miss the plumbing of the early 20th century, with visible copper pipelines and really old fashioned faucets.
Location is perfect.
Breakfast is good and tasty. Also there are many good options nearby, if you want to vary.
Service is beyond and above, receptionists are doing the best for you very kindly.

Hotel is in the city center, in the pedestrian area near the museum and other atractions. It is old fashioned hotel with amazing wooden furniture and big rooms. Food is excellent and stuf is very helpful. Very nice place which I strongly reccomend! Valjevo city is one of the most beautifull cities in Serbia and hotel Grand is jewel of the city!

Probably the only place in Valjevo

I really like Serbia and I love the people. Regardless of what happened in the past they are now smiling again and everything starts working for the new better future.
Exactly because of the history background the way to describing this hotel has to be slightly different.
First of all during the war Valjevo has been strongly bombed and many people lost everything what the had.
Secondly The Grand Hotel is really the only hotel at the moment in Valjevo, so there is nothing to chose from.
The hotel is in the city center and you can say that it had some really good times in the past.
Yes it is old and yes it needs renovating.
And yes I assume that the service needs some more motivation.
I am sure though that one day the city will have enough money to invest and that the hotel owner will see more sence in doing something more in the hotel.
I stayed 2 nights in this hotel and I cannot say this was horrible or bad.
I slept good to be honest and I see this as an experience which does not happen very often in life.

Horrible experience

It's like sleeping in the middle of the street.
Soundproofing serious problems in windows.
The hotel allowed teenagers disturb the customers for several hours on Saturday night.
The interior is outdated and ugly, specially bathrooms that's are very unconfortable.
Worst of all, the price: 70 € one night double room, as if you were in Bruxelles or London.
Run away!
