Lovely family holiday
We are a family of 4 that spent one week at Playacanela hotel and it was amazing. The room was big, we stayed at the 5th floor and the view was just perfect. The staff was lovely and always caring. The food was enough and tasty. Very clean. For the kids the pool is good. Just 5 min walking to the beach. We had a great time

Good hotel. Worth repeating.
The hotel is in an incredible area. The beach is a ten, the promenade is incredible with palm trees and grass, everything is very clean and well-kept. The building is beautiful. The two superior double rooms we had had spectacular views of the pool and the beach, the cleanliness was superior although they do not restock the toilet paper, we had to ask for it. Food is fine, like in all Playa hotels. Cleanliness is fine, entertainment is fine, the pool is very clean, I think the number of lounge chairs is fine although on the weekend it seemed like they were scarce, there are few umbrellas and if you don't grab one first thing in the morning you are left without shade.
The bad: The rules do not exist and it is a very serious problem since they allow smoking on the pool beach and under the roof of the pool bar, we also saw people vaping at the dining tables outside. Nothing is done to prevent it since it is widespread at the pool in front of the lifeguards. Also for three days there was a dog in the pool and bar area, we are barefoot there, danger of infections.
On Saturday they say there is a special gala dinner. I don't know what they mean by that but it is not gala at all, the food is the same as the other days.
This does not tarnish the good vacation we have spent at this hotel. Without a doubt, we will return to Playa hotels.

Lovely place
We have just returned from a family all-inclusive holiday of 10 days, and it was really lovely. The location was great and quiet. The staff were very helpful and polite, but not always willing to speak English, which was sometimes frustrating. We noticed that English-speaking guests are served in Spanish or Portuguese. The rooms were nice and clean, with comfortable beds. The food was of really good quality, with plenty of choices. Drinks in the bars on the all-inclusive are not just local, but also include foreign brands, which is very rare and a great benefit of this hotel. No issues finding a sunbed by the pool during the day; free towels at the pool. In general, a great holiday. Thank you, Playacanela Hotel.

Horrible.
Horrible room, child's bed super uncomfortable, impossible to open the room window because it hits the bed, old uncomfortable shower and toilet worn out to the max.

We will return.
We spent our vacation at Hotel PlayaCanela again this summer and were once again satisfied and eager to return; a super family-friendly hotel, with a privileged location, in a spectacular setting. We must highlight the hotel staff as one of its greatest assets, concerned at all times that everything is okay for the guest. The organization of resources is spectacular. The rooms are super comfortable. The cleanliness is a ten. Special mention to the buffet for both its quality and quantity, as there is never a shortage of any of the products. We travel with a celiac, and the options for them are very extensive, with cross-contamination control. They prepare and bring out directly from the kitchen what you choose.
