Very nice but slightly off putting

We stayed in this hotel for 5 nights in July. It is very modern and clean with complementary hot drinks and a big reception.
Breakfast was repeated every day but a good amount of options for the price and a good standard.
The pool was small as expected but very shallow. It had a lovely view of the city and almost always enough sunbeds.
However, on one night there were over a hundred ants in our room and it could not be felt with that night which was disappointing. Although, the situation was swiftly dealt with the following morning.
Overall a very good hotel for the price. Check in and out as well as breakfast times were very good and lengthy.

Well located decent hotel

Hotel that is within walking distance of the Ramblas and also to the rest of the center and beach. Clean fairly large rooms ( even had another seat in the room ) . Bathroom is very spacious and decent shower where everything is provided , even had clean towels every day . Breakfast may be a little more varied but everything is there for a hearty breakfast. On the roof you can sunbathe and cool off in the pool. It is worth repeating:)

Simple hotel

A simple hotel close to La Rambla. Value for money though good for Barcelona. Clean, spacious room with good shower and beds. Breakfast is exactly the same every day! Not bad if you stay there for 2 or 3 nights but for 5 nights it is a bit monotonous.
Too bad the pool was closed.

The hotel was nice. Had to wait til 3pm to check in. They held our luggage. Room was huge. Thin towels and soap smelled. Great location to shops and restaurants. Shady area though. Pool only opens during summer. Price was too high for what we received. Air/Heater control did not work. Breakfast was included so a plus! Make sure you get a room away from the apartments!

A view of Raval House and the neighborhood around it A Look at Raval House and the Surrounding Neighborhood

I chose the Raval House for my stay in Barcelona because it is a modern and extremely central option in the 3-star area. The location is unbeatable: You stumble right out of the hotel to La Boqueria market, which was ideal for my explorations. But as soon as you step outside, you're right in the middle of El Raval. The neighborhood is one of the most densely populated areas in the world – home to over 43,000 people in a single square kilometer. It's a fascinating melting pot with people from almost 140 nations. More than 50% of residents have a migrant background, which is the highest rate in Barcelona. Especially the large communities from Pakistan, the Philippines and Bangladesh characterize the colorful, multicultural streetscape. But I also have to say frankly: The narrow, sometimes dark alleys and the unusual, extremely lively atmosphere can certainly cause a queasy feeling or even anxiety for people who are a little more sensitive.
My room at Raval House was minimalist, but that fits the modern style and was above all one thing: impeccably clean. I also experienced the entire team as very friendly and helpful.
Hygiene and breakfast: Where it got hooked for me
At breakfast, however, I was torn. On the one hand, the continental buffet was quite abundant and also of good quality. But I had serious health concerns about the procedures in the service:My hygiene observations: I noticed that although the staff wears latex gloves, they seem not to change them. I have observed that the same gloves were used to dispose of the garbage and then to handle food directly again without changing the gloves in between. Although the house officially has good cleanliness ratings, this has made me feel uncomfortable.Bottles in service: These failures are probably due to the fact that the staff simply seem understaffed during peak hours. This also means that tables often could not be cleaned quickly enough for the next guests.
