Great stay at Hotel Sur
Friendly check in and we arrived early and appreciated the room being ready. The room and bathroom were spotless and smelt nice as you walked in! There is not kettle but no problems as we always bring a travel one. I would advise just bring some tea,coffee and sugar we always do. There was a small fridge and the shop is next door so you can get milk and all sorts of food there. The bathroom was small but clean. I loved the artwork in the room and lovely thick curtains. Air con worked fine.
I was happy with the buffet. Always a choice of meat or fish. The crusty rolls were delicious they cooked them when there was soup and at breakfast. Full cooked breakfast available and cereals, yoghurt and fresh fruits. You can't bring a drink to the evening meal but they get a drink from the bar for you. I wasn't keen on the coffee but I always bring some sachets of instant so not a problem. The buffet isn't massive but in reality how much food do you really need!
Note if you have children that are sensitive to very busy mealtimes Hotel Sur is perfect it isn't hectic and very quiet and calming. All the guest were lovely and friendly as it was small you got to know everyone.
There was a lift and I was surprised at how modern it was.
There is a children's play area and small sitting area but it was hot there. There was a large selection of books too for all.
The pool area was lovely in the morning but did get hot after lunch. it was never too busy.

The best beach is a walk from Hotel Sur turn right for around 20 minutes and there is a Burger King up there for those missing their UK takeaways. You can hire bikes and all sorts at varying locations.

Couples holiday
After coming to Mallorca for years previously, I have always wondered what it would be like to stay in the Hotel Sur as it was always busy when walking past.
Booked for end of July for a 5 day break with my partner and we were a bit sceptical with it being only 2 star, but we gave it a go.
I couldn't fault it, it definitely should be at least a 3 star, the food was lovely, we had B&B, breakfast was hot, I am coeliac so I was absolutely thrilled to see there was an actual Gluten Free ONLY toaster. The rooms were very clean, bathroom was spotless. There is also a lift, it's a bit on the small side however I personally don't like lifts anyway.
It is located in the middle of Cala Bona with plenty of bars and restaurants very close by.
The staff are so friendly and very accommodating.
Would definitely book again.

A cheap and cheerful little gem.
What a little gem of a hotel. It was our first visit to Cala Bona and we loved it. The hotel is a bit basic as it’s one of the original hotels and could do with a refresh but it’s very clean and met all our needs. Rooms are cleaned and towels changed every day except Sunday.
The staff are all lovely and friendly particularly Pedro and Joan who are so much fun. There’s brilliant entertainment every night and the food is fresh and wholesome. Mostly families and couples from northern England staying while we were there and we had the best fun as they are all so friendly and just chatted away to us which we loved being Irish. It’s worth noting these families have been coming for years which says a lot about the hotel. The food choices reflect the clientele from a great fry with proper sausages or continental for breakfast to Sunday roast with Yorkshires, lasagne and roast chicken all beautifully cooked. Plenty of salad and nice desserts and ice cream too. Toasties, burgers and pizzas are available in the bar cooked to order. There’s brilliant entertainment every night with a full selection of beers, spirits cocktails and soft drinks. All reasonably priced. Supermarket next door sells all your essentials including your shampoos and shower gels and sunscreen. The bar is open to the street and regularly had people dancing in the street as well as in the bar. Fun and friendliness is the vibe. The pool area is compact but we had no issues getting a sun lounger any day. You do need to provide your own pool towels which you can either bring from home or buy for a few quid in the local supermarket. Other restaurants are located in the nearby marina, Smithys and Janet and Johns are two we tried and were great and Cala Millor is only a 15 min stroll where there is a large beach, shops and restaurants. I would have no hesitation in recommending Hotel Sur and like a lot of the guests I met I will be returning.

Lovely
Staff – were all efficient, friendly and hard-working
Pool – Small but big enough. There were plenty of sunbeds available and an umbrella to every two sun loungers. The pool bar was small but refreshments and snacked were available by order and reasonable priced.
Rooms. The room and balcony was large and the room spotless. The room had a good sized fridge, great air-conditioning and a hairdryer. The cleaning service was faultless.
Reception and Lounge. Again the staffs could not do enough. The check-in was easy and efficient.
Front Bar. Large, spacious with good service and reasonable priced. Multi-screen sky sports and evening entertainment.
Location. Escellent. Opposite beach. A very sort walf from the harbour.

A lovely friendly clean hotel
Another fantastoc holiday hwre ar Hotel sur. Lovely family run accomidation. All the staff here are lovely and friendly. Greets you when you go though reception to entering the bar and when younleave they say goodnight. We will deffo be back to this hotel again. If you looking for room only to habing either lunch or breakdast here i say you shpuld come here. Entertainment evwry night. The rooms are kept clean and fresh every day exept sunday. Or if you dont want cleaners in there a sighn you can place on door. Cleaners are lobely polote staff knocks on door before entering and says who they are. They clean the room to profection. Come see for yourself.. rexeprion staff feiwndly and smilws at you the recwtion area clean and tidy. This also has a gym thiugh not used so cant comme t o. Thua but looks clean and good equipment highly recomebded thia hotel
