Serene

Large monastery with spacious rooms renovated and very well decorated. The Parador exudes tranquility and its enchanting visit. The indoor pool is intimate and invites relaxation. On the other hand the Spa circuit of a 1.30 is a little short for the price of 30 euros per person.

A monastery in the mountains

impressive in an Asturian mountain setting very close to Cangas de Narcea. The rooms, which correspond to those formerly occupied by the monks, are splendidly large, and generally well-equipped with outlets and closets, which are usually scarce in hotels. The bathroom was super spacious and well-equipped. The decoration is somewhat sober and minimalist; perhaps the building called for something more classic.
The hallways are very wide, which gives it a curious effect. And its cloisters, lounges, and an impressive library complete the picture.
Regarding the dining, it must be said that the New Year's Eve dinner-party was somewhat (too) classic, with some poorly executed tortos, okay seafood soup, average fish, and very classic lamb. The dessert and the wines were better.
It was curiously better, both the dinner and the show on November 30th.
The breakfasts were very good and varied.
The proximity to an important town like Cangas de Narcea, which you can walk to, is also a plus.
In general, a very correct and recommendable Parador.

Adjust price-quality ratio for breakfasts and dining

The place is spectacular, the facilities too, but there is a lot to be done in terms of dining. Dinner in the cafeteria: salad with salted tuna belly and bland tomato. Breakfasts are expensive for the quality of the product. The breakfast buffet is 20 e per person. There is an a la carte option for breakfast but it is still expensive. An orange juice is 5 e, which is not fresh-squeezed, or a savory toast, meaning regular serrano or cooked ham, is 7.50 euros. Mind you, there is a bottle of cava in case someone has breakfast with cava. I think that having more variety and quality in the cafeteria and more affordable prices for breakfast (for the average person), leaving the extra delicacies for those who want them or have a craving, would be the right thing to do.

A surprising building.

Its size is surprising. It is very large although it does not have many rooms. These are large and very comfortable.
It has a good SPA and a small pool.
Breakfast is good. We loved the fruit, especially the pineapple.
The service is good and diligent. Special thanks to Sara (exceptional).
The state of preservation is perfect. The guided tours of the Parador and the attached church are highly recommended.
As an improvement, it would be good to better soundproof the rooms that face the road.
We also missed having bathrooms with a shower.

Would definitely recommend as it was an amazing place steeped with history.
The room was very impressive with seating area and immaculately clean.
We also loved the restaurant with excellent à la carte menu.
