Wonderful Rural Home

My wife and I stayed here just one night as part of a Panorama Trails horseback riding trip. This was our first stop of eight days. Not knowing what to expect for accommodations on this trip we were pleasantly surprised. The home is beautifully kept and clean. The accommodations are simple and the dinner and breakfast that we ate were wonderful. dinner was Catalonian style chicken which was delicious. Breakfast was typical meats, breads and juices you find in that region. The proprietors were very nice and accommodating. I would stay there again if I were in the area.

A perfect place to relax!

My partner and I went to Hostal Nou with the family to runaway from the daily stress. My sister was there twice before and I have to say it was a wonderful recommendation! This time, we all spent a great time together. The house is big with an amazing and huge garden where you can play different sports or just lay down under the trees :) In the living rooms there is always music and we were playing table games as if we were in our place. The rooms are bright, cosy and extremely clean! We had breakfast and dinner and the food is just amazing. You can clearly see with how much love the mother is cooking. It’s like mum’s cooking!!!
We felt welcomed since the beginning and they were extremely flexible and friendly with us during the whole stay. They adapted the kids menu every day for my little nephew ensuring he was fine at all times.
Alexandra and her family are extremely caring and they made us feel like at home. We will definitely be back in spring! Don’t miss it if you are around!

Perfect in every way

We spend 2 nights enjoying the peace and calm of this beautiful place. We had a triple room and opted to eat there both nights. The room was very comfortable, the bathroom was a good size and had a great shower and quality toiletries. The hotel itself is charming - located in a flat rural area surrounded by walnut and olive trees. There are several shady spots outside to sit and relax, have a drink or take the time to take in the surroundings. Inside space is also very cozy, big sofas and several spots to sit, read, play games and chat. The pool is lovely. Dinner was delicious and great value at 18 euros including wine - 3 courses and very flexible where special diets are needed. Breakfast was perfect - cold meats, cheeses, fruit, bread, cereals and home made cakes. All in all great value for a charming welcome, stunning location and delicious home-made food. 348 euros for 3 people, bed, breakfast, evening meal and wine.

Peaceful retreat

We stayed for 2 nights early July with our 9 year old son. The house is lovely, full of character. Our triple room was nice and the common areas within the house are charming. Isabel and her husband were most helpful. We speak little Spanish but managed to muddle through. We enjoyed a lovely dinner on the first night cooked by Isabel. Breakfast was fine.
We enjoyed the tranquility of our stay and the hostal is well positioned to visit charming nearby towns.
It was 30+ degrees during our stay. I specifically chose Hosatl Nou for its swimming pool, football field and table tennis for our son. Sadly the pool was closed for cleaning during our stay which we didn't expect.The football field and garden in general had grass too long to play and the table tennis table was warped so disappointing for us. The old table football was great though.
We had intended spending a relaxing day there but instead headed out to the town of Besalu which was amazing and to Banyoles where we swam in the lake and hired bikes. A lovely day.
A nice stay but needed a pool to cool off in such high temperatures.

Lovely rural hotel

Tranquil and rural; set among the fields and walnut groves. We were here on a trail riding holiday and our horses grazed in the adjacent field. The old stone building was full of character. The food was lovely hearty Catalan fare - all in all a good place to stay for people that like a piece of the countryside.
