Situata nel piccolo villaggio di Escalante, la Posada La Rivera de Escalante è una tradizionale costruzione in pietra e legno risalente a 100 anni fa e provvista di camere con connessione internet Wi-Fi gratuita e TV con schermo al plasma. L'edificio, dotato di splendide viste, è ubicato a soli 200 metri dalla Riserva Naturale di Santoña e a 3,8 km dalla spiaggia Berria di Santoña. La Posada De Escalante è fornita di una terrazza e serve una colazione casereccia a base di frutta fresca, yogurt e altri piatti locali. Charming house and great breakfast

We have been at the Posada for three days. It is right in the center of a very pretty town with good restaurants. The location of the town is very good for visiting the area (Berria, Isla, Noja, Laredo)
The suite room is very spacious and everything is very clean.
The breakfast is exceptional. They prepare it homemade for you every day, they provide savory, sweet, hot, juice etc.. and on top of that they vary it every day. It is a luxury to have breakfast there, because of the food and the attention of a very nice girl who serves the tables. She is very attentive, polite and pleasant, as is the cook who I believe is the owner.
It is a good place to spend a few days with the family.

A very cozy place.

A truly welcoming place. The rooms had everything necessary for a very good stay, such as a fan for hot days, or a refrigerator, which is greatly appreciated when traveling with stops, to have cold water and food. And the breakfast was very plentiful and delicious, with a gluten-free option as well. And the staff was very attentive. I would repeat my stay.

Disappointing, poor value for money

We chose this inn because of the good comments but we were very disappointed. We travel a lot, we have experience in accommodation and we have to say that the quality-price ratio is not good. To charge like a 4* hotel you have to provide minimal services and this inn does not have them. There is no reception: they give you instructions over the phone (where to get the key, where the room is, other instructions...). They did not give us a double bed as we had requested (they offered us a very small and dark one on the ground floor), a broken shower (and from comments from other clients I understand that it has been broken for several months) and other defects (a broken towel rail), the television cannot be seen due to interference, curtain in the shower, gel in sachets (very basic), breakfast exclusively from 9 to 10 (but we have to say that it was the best of the stay, it is not a buffet but it is varied and abundant), a lot of noise from the other rooms, they allow pets but charge €15/night but do not provide a bed or water fountain for the dog. We only saw the owner or manager at breakfast time and she is very serious. In short, we did not like it

Rustic rural location

Stayed here on the last stop in our Camino journey. Lovely rustic posada with perhaps 8/10 rooms. While it is built on the side of what can be a busy road, with windows closed that issue was solved. Lovely breakfast provided following morning. The town is very small and on the night we visited there was only one restaurant to have dinner which however was delicious. No evening food available at the posada.
