My Go-To Hotel in the Málaga Area
I’ve stayed at Hotel La Morena several times now, and it’s officially become my go-to place whenever I’m in the Málaga area — which is quite often.
Manuel is always friendly, welcoming, and genuinely helpful. The rooms are spotless, comfortable, and nicely decorated, and the whole atmosphere of the hotel feels relaxed and homely.
The location is ideal: close to everything yet still quiet and peaceful. If you’re looking for food recommendations, just ask Manuel — there are plenty of nearby options with delicious, authentic Andalusian dishes, as well as almost any international cuisine you could wish for.
All in all, a charming little hotel with excellent service and great value for money. Highly recommended!

Frustrating & very disappointing.
Choose some place else to stay . Please save your self regrets like us. Poor hygiene. Poor service . No food or coffee. No cafe or bar. No attendance. Only one obnoxious brother with personal hygiene issues. If you read some of his replies to previous complainants , (talk about dig your self a hole, somebody take the shovel from him before he reaches Australia). providing absolute testimony to his poor character & unprofessional service. This hotelier/young lad has no manners, he was so far back in the queue for charm school that you wouldn't of ever seen him. Anyplace else will be better.

Hostel more than hotel
Very good location, but there is no parking or loading and unloading area to unload luggage.
There is no light when you enter until you reach the stairs, so at night it is quite scary.
Spacious room with everything you need, air conditioning, a refrigerator, and a TV, but neither the remote nor the remote worked.
Finally, what surprised me the most was that when I went to shower, my towel had a huge hole in it... and I've never seen that in a hotel before...
I think the place would be more of a history than a hotel, and by fixing these small inconveniences, it would undoubtedly be a 10.

How at home
We loved the accommodation. We felt very happy that we were able to travel with our pet. Attention 10, always worrying that pets are okay, and we of course. Location the best, impeccable cleanliness, lovely cafeteria. Thanks to Manuel and his mother. They made us feel at home. Looking forward to coming back. Thank you ❤️

Enjoyable break away.
I stayed in August 2024 and returned again end of December up to January 2025. Lovely clean, quiet hotel. Has all the basics anyone would need. Perfect for a single person or couple travelling. Situated in the middle of the town… right beside lots of bars/restuarants/shops. 500 min walk to beach, large shopping centre short walk away. Very safe place. Will return again.
