Very good location, facing the sea.

We were very comfortable but there were undoubtedly details that would have improved the experience. The pool is under construction, which is perfectly understandable, but they did not notify us until the week before, so we did not have time to be able to book another accommodation. I did not like the breakfast very much, since there are no hot dishes, the staff comes out and asks you if you want one egg, two, sausages, scrambled eggs... and you do not enjoy it the same.

Lamentamos sinceramente las molestias ocasionadas por la indisponibilidad de la piscina y la experiencia de desayuno que no cumplió sus expectativas. Las obras se iniciaron en invierno con el objetivo de ofrecer una nueva instalación en la temporada estival; no obstante, imprevistos ajenos a nuestro deseo alteraron el calendario inicialmente contemplado. Este proyecto forma parte de un plan de renovación integral en Paradores, que en ciertos casos se coordina con la planificación de Turespaña.
Nuestro propósito es brindar un servicio a la altura de los estándares que nos caracterizan, con información clara y una propuesta gastronómica satisfactoria. Apreciamos sus observaciones, que nos ayudan a seguir cuidando cada detalle.

Wish I'd read the comments here and I could have cancelled. As you drive into the hotel, past the skip, mechanical digger and a vast array of building materials, the noise hits you immediately, together with the realisation that there is no longer a pool, despite photos still appearing on the website. The superior sea view room we paid a considerable amount for was noisy with a terrible outlook onto the works. We changed to a standard room which overlooked other bedroom balconies but first had to negotiate the painters and dust sheets as the corridor was being painted. We were offered a credit of the difference between the 2 rooms which we took as 2 breakfasts and a credit in the bar. Their definition of bar was a sofa in the dining room together with the other guests having their evening meal. The aircon unit blew out a pathetic waft of warm air which did nothing to dispel the odour of paint . We've stayed at several Parador hotels, including this one previously, and always had excellent service and facilities, but not to be informed of all this renovation work is a huge lack of respect to the guests.

The Elephant in the room is....

The extensive building work at the former pool area ruined this stay.
There is no information on the website and the Hotel did not inform me this work was going on after or during the booking process.
This lack of transparency led us into a situation where I could not make an informed choice and cancel the booking before arrival.
The pool area is a real mess and I seriously doubt it will be completed before August.
The Bar (a makeshift table) and restaurant did not look appealing so we ate out and are leaving without taking up the offer of breakfast.
I write this at 5am from my room dissatisfied and can't wait to leave.
My advice, cancel your reservation if you can until the work is completed.

In summer, the pool is an essential service at this Parador

I recently stayed at the Parador de Mojácar and my final feeling was one of disappointment. Before making the reservation, it was informed that the pool was closed. I decided to keep the reservation thinking that, since it was a beach hotel, I could enjoy the sea without any problem. However, the reality was quite different. The beach located right in front of the Parador is made of pebbles, making it uncomfortable to access the water. If you want a more pleasant sandy area, you have to walk several minutes. Additionally, throughout our stay there were strong waves and a significant undertow, so practically no one was swimming. Most people barely entered the water up to their waists, and additionally, there was no lifeguard service either. The result was that the hotel offered no alternative to cool off or enjoy the water, as the pool remained closed. In the height of summer, I consider this aspect to be especially important. My disappointment lies in the fact that a high season rate was maintained when one of the main services of the hotel, the pool, was not available and, in practice, the beach also did not constitute an alternative for swimming. I communicated this circumstance to Customer Service requesting a reasonable reduction in the price of the stay, but my request was denied. My intention in writing this review is to inform future travelers. If you plan to stay during the summer, I recommend checking in advance if the pool is operational, as it can make a significant difference in the enjoyment of your stay.

Lamentamos que las condiciones de la playa durante la estancia del cliente no hayan sido las esperadas y comprendemos su malestar.
No obstante, el estado de las playas de Mojácar, el oleaje y las condiciones meteorológicas son circunstancias ajenas a nuestra gestión y, por tanto, no podemos asumir responsabilidad sobre ellas.

construction at hotel Paradores de Mojacar

The hotel showing a swimming pool was in fact a building site together with the construction of a swimming. The management claim all agents including Easyjet were notified that construction commenced March 2026 and due for completion July 2026.
