Good calçotada

Calçotada in the center of Galicia, a rural restaurant on the outskirts of Arzúa, with comfortable and rural facilities that offer a few days of Calçotadas that transport you to a Catalan town, good product, good cuisine and good service.

Good setting and calçots, but expensive for what it offers

The setting is really beautiful, very well maintained and tastefully decorated. The calçots were very well prepared, tasty and, in addition, we could repeat without problem, which is appreciated. They are served at an outside table and, with the spectacular day, the experience at that time was unbeatable.
However, the rest of the menu does not maintain that level. In the dining room, the classic bread with tomato and serrano ham is clearly better; in fact, the ham was of fairly fair quality. We ordered olive oil and they provided it, but it does not make up for that first impression.
The wine included in the menu (about €4) is frankly poor. It is a pity, because with a slight improvement in this aspect the overall perception of food would change markedly.
As for the main dishes, the vegetables are correct without highlighting, the butifarra with beans is quite basic and the lamb, honestly, is not up to scratch: a real disappointment. Catalan cream, meanwhile, is acceptable, without more.
Overall, for €54, we expected a more careful and balanced dining experience. A proposal with a lot of potential, but that needs to improve several key aspects to justify its price.

Great experience. The host picked us up in town and made great meals. It was our favorite stop on the Camino!

Such a nice experience. The host made a wonderful dinner and breakfast. After 10 days in the Camino, this was our favorite place!

Kindness, hospitality, comfort, charm, and some of the best food anywhere; a home and heart along the Camino.

All of our accommodations along the Camino were comfortable and welcoming, but Casa Assumpta we will remember like home. Peaceful surroundings - quiet and retreat-like - very welcoming and easily the best food we had on the Camino. Some of the best food we’ve had anywhere in fact. Arnau was warm and helpful and really seems to be the heart of this place. Especially in the kitchen. If you are looking at a map Casa Assumpta might seem off the path a bit, but trust me, this is a good thing. And there is a shuttle, so there is no excuse not to stay here! If - when - we come back to beautiful Galicia, we will spend some quality time here again. Thank you Arnau for your warmth and hospitality when we needed it most!
