Lovely hotel in Seville.
Pool was great and you have to grab a bed before the sun comes out at 10am. We were in a level room, which was great. The level suite is convenient to grab nibbles and soft/beers/wine- but thetes not a big array of food, so make sure you understand it’s nibbles and nothing substantial. 5 mins walk to the Plaza which was on view from the room. We used Cabify app which was cheaper than Uber and the local cabs. If you are wanting to use the gym it’s not great, lots of free weights but no machines. We did lots of walking and our room was cleaned every day when we got back. We preferred the buffet breakfast, the level is nice but you don’t get the same choice as the buffet. Would definitely visit the Melia again a it’s a lovely hotel with great facilities and amazing staff. I read some people thought the staff were rude?Didn’t see any rude behaviour, staff couldn’t do enough for you in my opinion. They kindly put a bottle of cava and chocolate as a celebration of our 10y wedding anniversary. Nice touch.

Good location

The majority of the staff are some of the rudest I’ve come across, the older lady who works on reception at the level needs some training in customer service. The way the staff speak to you is astounding.
We upgraded to the level, the room we were assigned seemed a downgrade to the one I actually booked. Did not come with an iron as it suggested.
Upgrading to the level usually means late checkout, wasn’t even discussed was simply told no.
The tapas in the level lounge is pretty pointless, I see no value in upgrading we definitely didn’t get our moneys worth.
The pool, we saw people reserving sun loungers in the morning and not returning all day, one of the days I was out sunbathing until 5pm and they still hadn’t returned. There are not enough sunbeds and people reserve them.
For some bizarre reason the hotel lets about 30 screaming Spanish kids use the pool in the morning, the ‘adults’ supervising have no regard for paging guests.
The bar at the pool area is painfully slow.
I would not recommend.

Good, clean hotel
One of the biggest positives was the excellent organisation on arrival. We arrived around 12pm & were really pleased to find that all 3 of our rooms were already ready & we were checked in & given our rooms early. Also the 3 rooms were directly next to one another, which was perfect for us
The breakfast was good with a great selection. I am gluten free & I was particularly impressed with the dedicated gluten free area. It was positioned behind the egg station, slightly away from the main breakfast area, which meant it was less accessible to people simply browsing & therefore felt more protected from accidental contamination. There was a very good selection of gluten free muffins & biscuits.
My room was very nice, spacious & comfortable & I was happy with it overall. The only issue I had was that the toilet wasn’t flushing particularly well. I reported this to reception & someone came in & attempted to repair it while I was out. To be honest, I don’t think it was completely resolved, but as I was only staying for two nights & was out most of the time, it wasn’t a major issue for me.
The location is good with plenty of taxis readily available & the hotel only a short walk from the palace. It’s a convenient base for exploring Seville.

Great stay!
Location: Great location in Seville. It is literally a 3 minute walk to the Plaza which is great, however, it’s a 20 minute to the centre of Seville, 30 minute walk to Setas de Sevilla and also 30 minute walk to the river. This was great for us as we don’t mind walking but just to make other aware of the walk.
Atmosphere: Great atmosphere in the hotel, no complaints. Felt really safe. Felt really welcoming.
Rooms: We had a standard double room booked…wow, did not disappoint, it was huge! Two single beds but that doesn’t bother us, big television and huge bathroom with loads of amenities (hair dryer, shampoo, conditioner, shower gel). Mini bar in the room too, however, no iron! We also found that there wasn’t that many plugs either. We brought an extension lead but if we didn’t we would have struggled but that’s the only down side to the room. They were quiet, couldn’t hear any noise from other rooms or corridors so we were really happy and slept really well too.
Cleanliness: We found the hotel was really clean, the rooms, the reception, the restaurant and the pool.
Pool: As just said the pool was really clean. It is smaller than we expected and it got really busy when we were there. People reserving beds but then didn’t show up until late afternoon which we found unfair. The pool was freezing despite the hot weather but it did certainly cool us down! You get towel cards for around the pool too. The bar around the restaurant was great. €5 for a pint of Cruzcampo which we were happy with. Food was ok, not a lot of variety but we just asked for portions of fries and they were happy to do that for us for €4. The only downside was because it was so busy, the bar had long wait times. Even when it was really busy there was only 1 person on the bar so eventually we ended up waiting 35 minutes to order two drinks but that was the only negative apart from people reserving beds.
Overall a great stay and we will vertical be staying in another Melia hotel again! Thank you
