Tranquillo
The service, when available, was good. However upon our arrival, with a booking, the place seemed totally abandoned. It took nearly an hour to find someone. (No joke). Putting that aside, the staff were kind and helpful. The rooms are beautifully decorated in an old-fashioned, country style. The beds and linens were super comfortable.
We had to get two rooms for our family as each room sleeps only two. Continental breakfast was 7€ per person. We ate dinner in their restaurant which was empty, but lovely. The wifi never worked for us, although the employee told us there was nothing wrong with it. Maybe that’s part of the tranquility? All in all, a wonderful stop over between Bilbao and Porto.

Nice stop on the way!
Rooms are really nice and comfortable. Very clean as well. Big bathroom to have all comfort. We took to twin bedrooms communicated by a door, as we are five in the family and it worked perfectly.
The hotel itself and the surroundings are really nice. They have a farm where you can go a see all the animals and also a horse riding centre. Beautiful animals! We dont ride horse but was nice to take the kids to see them.
Everyone at the hotel was super-nice with us, specially at the reception, finding us a solution given we came with no reservation.
The only two things i would improve:
- one obvious one is that the hotel doesnt have a pool, whilst its really hot in summer
- also the restaurant. The food was ok, but nothing special. Also very limited wine list and very expensive. Being in a wine region expected something different.
Very nice breakfast included, with all cold food ( no omelets or eggs), but all really nice and abundant.
Overall very good quality vs price.
Probably a place to come back and spend a couple of days visiting the region
