Sadly disappointed this year

3rd visit here, and sadly - probably our last?
The last 2 visits we've given 5 stars, but we had a few issues this year.
Mainly the restaurant.
Firstly - The flies.
Lots of flies outside, granted that could not be helped.
But lots inside the restaurant too!
Landing on your food, in your hair, in your eyes (yuk!) and persistent as hell. Just keep bothering you over and over. EXTREMELY ANNOYING, and unwanted.
And the restaurant has ZERO measures in place to control this!
No fly killers, nothing - & you wonder why there's a problem??
Aircon and fans everywhere in restaurant ensure ALL the food is cold 5 mins after being served.
Don't think we had a single meal that wasn't tepid at best.
And lastly, bit of wind, and bang, bang, bang, bang of the doors slamming to the outside area.
Constant as the flies.
Would a soft door closer purchase break the bank?
So many meal times we found ourselves, swatting flies more than eating, getting annoyed with constant banging, whilst eating cold dry food.
Now the rest of the holiday, yes we had the usual enjoyable experience, met by pleasant and lovely staff, the pool is great, and the whole experience is amazing.
We were planning on returning in 2027 for a special occasion and booking the top rooms, vip experience and so on, but don't think that'll be happening for the following reasons (which we're gutted about tbh) :-
Food will be the same as everyone else, same flies etc, just sat in the vip bit.
Do the vip balanese beds EVER get washed?
Our 3rd visit and yet to ever see this?
Week after week of sweaty residents, they must be awful.
Tables and sun loungers elsewhere don't get cleaned, proof is the state of them and the litter from the previous day still apparent?
And a premium is charged for the experience of this?
(My wife has been ill a couple of times, she's diabetic and occasionally vertigo, and weve stayed up all night, sitting outside by the pool - and apart from the early ish morning pool maintenance, we've seen very little cleaning of the sun loungers or the vip beds ?)
And yes we've heard the hotel is closing in sep for either to be sold or refurb? (Staff told us, but don't know?)
So if it is a refurb, yes 2027 may see us in the vip areas, as we do love this place, and hate saying negative things about it.
And yes we could be wrong about the lounger and vip beds being cleaned, hope we are tbh)
But while the hotel is in its current state, ie tired dated decor, and the above issues, we sadly won't be returning.
I'm expecting a standard copy/paste management reply below, saying some generic blurb about meeting high standards and sorry about us being disappointed.
But cmon, you can't make out that your unaware of things like the fly issue, especially when most people around the pool are sat with fly swatters!!
But if you are closing in September I guess it's a case of just hanging in there?
Let's hope 2027 sees a full refurb and puts this hidden little gem back on the may as the top naturist resort in Europe.
And as long as we don't see crazy prices, there's a chance you may see us in the vip rooms yet

Dear Guest,
First of all, we would like to thank you for choosing Playavera for your third visit and, above all, for taking the time to write such a detailed review. Knowing that you awarded us five stars on your previous two stays makes your comments even more valuable to us, as they come from a guest who knows the hotel well and genuinely cares about its future.
We are truly sorry to learn that this year's experience did not live up to the expectations created by your previous visits.
We completely understand your frustration regarding the presence of flies in the restaurant. During the summer months, especially due to our proximity to the sea and the surrounding natural environment, this can become a challenge. Nevertheless, we agree that it is an area where we must continue to improve, and we have taken careful note of your suggestions regarding additional control measures.
We also appreciate your comments about the temperature of the food and the constant slamming of the terrace doors. These are practical issues that can significantly affect the dining experience, and we will assess what improvements can be implemented to address them.
Regarding the cleanliness of the sun loungers, tables and the Royal Area Balinese beds, we are sorry that this was the impression you were left with. These areas are included in our regular cleaning and maintenance programme; however, based on your experience, it is clear that we need to improve both the consistency of these tasks and our guests' perception of them.
We were especially concerned to read about the health issues your wife experienced during your stay. We sincerely hope she has made a full recovery.
At the same time, we are pleased to know that, despite these disappointments, you still enjoyed the atmosphere of the hotel, our staff and the unique experience that Playavera offers. Your kind words about our team are greatly appreciated by all of us.
With regard to the rumours about the hotel closing, we would like to reassure you that the information you have heard is not correct. We understand that this type of speculation can create uncertainty among our guests, but from time to time rumours circulate that do not reflect reality. Any news regarding next season will always be communicated through the official channels of Senator Hotels & Resorts.
We are genuinely sorry that you are considering not returning, especially when you had already been planning such a special trip for 2027. We hope that, when the time comes, you will give us another opportunity to welcome you back. Guests like you, who have supported us over several years and provide honest, constructive feedback, help us identify the areas where we need to continue improving.
Thank you once again for your loyalty, your honesty and for continuing to believe that Playavera can remain one of Europe's leading naturist destinations. We sincerely hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back and provide an experience that once again meets your expectations.
With our best wishes,
Diego González

True or false?

Hello, today I was told that the hotel will no longer be nudist starting in October. Is this true, or is it a rumor? I hope that next year we can continue going and everything stays the same!!

Naked, Hot and Satisfied

Went in mid July some days 40*C. Husband and wife visiting. Booked the most basic room through Thomas cook.
If you're an all out naturist you won't be disappointed, if you enjoy a modern hotel room then that might be another story.
Room...
The most basic rooms face out of the hotel to the carpark but also do have a reasonable view of the sea. Dated decor and very tired in places. However the cleaning staff do their absolute very best. As tired as our room was it was cleaned daily to a very high standard indeed. New bath/hand and dloor towels provided as required. Air conditioning at first caused us to be worried but concerns were unfounded as the room cooled quickly and to a very comfortable temperature, had to dial it up at night as it did become rather chilly. Large round bath with more than enough room for two or three if that takes your fancy and plenty of space to splash around a bit . When showering water can be very hot and adjustment is "touchy" temperature varies as other showers are turned on/off. We found the beds to be comfortable and clean.
The hotel....
English language is rationed not as freely spoken or available as other resorts we have visited, but you will get by we are in Spain after all, make an effort and learn a few more words than hello/beer/toilet, the effort will be appreciated.
The pool is absolutely fantastic, as with the rooms tired in places but does not constitute a health hazard, we did not encounter any broken tiles or other similar worries. Perfect temperature, cold enough to cool off and not shocking to plunge into. Loungers reserved
Bar and restaurant.....
The prices in the bar are dearer than just outside the hotel but significantly more cost effective than drinking in an English high street and spirit volumes are far superior but perhaps only two thirds of what you would get just outside (50 feet) of the front doors and for less money in those bars.
Bar food, we only had a pizza,.it seemed to be an Iceland frozen type, we wouldn't again. Didn't eat anything else from the bar but other meals/snacks we saw coming out looked more than basic.
Two sprits with mixers were 15 Euro.
Restaurant....
Superb breakfast and lunch buffet, so much choice you don't know where to start, grill just outside serving eggs, omelettes and other items cooked to order, coffee, juices, wine, prosecco and lagers on tap help yourself . However would not recommend the evening meal, similar buffet experience but meats cooked to order a bit chewy, chips under a heat lamp were lack luster, some strange combinations if you are English.
Clientele....
A good many heterosexual couples, at the time of our visit we outnumbered the single male population by a country mile. If you need to be, be prepared for numerous gay male couples.
We did meet only one other English couple, swapped numbers and will be hooking up in Wisbech before the summer is out.
Entertainment.....
The entertainment staff really put extra effort in, can't say how impressive their efforts are. Organised hoop throwing (if that's what it's called), that french ball throwing game, water volleyball (just as much fun to watch as to play) crazy golf and much much more. Well done!
Generally we found all the staff to be friendly and helpful, if you want to tip them be sure to bring some cash. Debit/credit cards and "pay by phone" available.
The naturist beach is literally at the back door of the hotel but beware of lounger costs, we didn't get one but were told they were 10 Euro, each! Mainly sandy with a strip of spiky stones at the waters edge, the actual edge of the sea is sandy but does drop away to quite deep within 20-30 feet or so. Sea was warm during our visit.
Another thing to consider is at the time of our visit tiny fast moving flies were a nuisance, none on the beach, a few around the pool more in the village and at the bus stop just outside the village we were inundated, it seems they find somewhere to sleep from early evening onwards so not a problem if you go out to eat later.
Overall a great naked break, we will be coming back.

Dear Guest,
We value your feedback and the points you’ve highlighted.
We’re delighted you appreciated the high standard of cleanliness in your room and the efficient air conditioning. It’s wonderful to hear you enjoyed the spacious bath and comfortable beds. Our breakfast and lunch buffets are designed to offer variety, and we’re glad they added to your experience.
That said, we sincerely regret that some aspects of your stay fell short. We appreciate your observations on our room decor and dining options, and we’ll review your comments on minor inconveniences during your stay.
Nonetheless, we’re thrilled you valued our entertainment team’s efforts and the convenience of our beachfront location. The pool area remains a favorite spot for many guests, and we’re pleased it provided a refreshing escape.
We hope that we have the opportunity to see you again soon.
Kind regards,
