Beautiful Bungalow on a Tea estate with lovely views

We had the privilege of staying twice at the Olive Bungalow by Jetwing this past month in Welimada Sri Lanka, and we always look forward to our visits. This beautiful bungalow, set on a tea estate with views of the surrounding mountains and a lovely garden, has a wonderful ambience. Kumara, the head chef, is absolutely amazing — his breakfasts are spectacular with a delightful English–Sri Lankan spread. His signature meat platter is outstanding, and his biryani and other Indian dishes are always superb. Thank you, Kumara, for your culinary expertise and for always taking such good care of us. Many thanks to Gayan the manager and Sandaruwan for maintaining this bungalow so well and for making sure that our stays always are special, We look forward to returning soon.

Olive bungalow great experience

We were warmly welcomed by Kavindu, who took great care of us during our 3-day stay at the Olive Bungalow. Chef Logesh delighted us with traditional dishes that weren't too spicy—perfect for us! We highly recommend this place.

Stay at Jetwing Olive Bungalow

We stayed at Jetwing Olive Bungalow in August 2025. We were 2 families with 4 adults and 4 children. The rooms are spacious, so are the common spaces. The garden is a bit smaller than expected. But the location in the mountains of Sri Lanka is great. We had a wonderful time at the Bungalow. The whole team was very friendly and went out of their way to assist us in any query we had. They made us feel at home from the very beginning. They organised for us a cooking class as well as a trek in the mountains and the villages, which we truly loved as well as a visit through the tea plantations of the property. We highly recommend the Jetwing Olive Bungalow for any friends and families who are looking for a more calm and unique experience in the mountains of Sri Lanka. They were also very helpful by helping us to get some medicine for some of us who got sick. We loved the dishes prepared and served by the whole team of the Olive Bungalow and the Warwick Garden House. We would like to thank all of them, including Sachith, Kumara, Namal and Tangesh, Wije, Thagagu and Shiwa. We loved every dish as well as the fresh juices they prepared for us. For even higher standards, we could also recommend the Warwick Garden House. We really loved our stay and hope to come back soon. Elisabeth, Carole and the whole family.

One of the best Bunglows with top class service.

Olive Bunglow is situated in a beautiful tea plantation in Welimada Sri Lanka. The Bunglow is surrounded by gorgeous views of the Ohiya mountain range and the tea fields. This bungalow is ideal for relaxing and family holidays. The rooms were beautifully furnished with Jetwing amenities. I loved the gardens which are so well maintained. Also the surrounding areas are ideal for early morning and evening walks along the Tea bushes with gorgeous views of the mountain range. In the compounds of the bungalow there are variety of birds flying around. The climate is moderate and one of the best Climates in Sri Lanka.
During our stay Chef Kumara was absolutely outstanding, he made some mouthwatering meals for us. His presentation and creativity is super amazing. The produce are organic home grown from the Bunglow garden. Being a foodie his Tosai and Pol rotti preparations are absolutely fantastic. The western meals too were incredibly good. Alongside Chef Kumara, Siva the head butler was the best. He works tirelessly to make your stay the best ever. He goes above and beyond to give you a 5 star + service at the Olive Bungalow. He is attentive, professional, willing and always there to make the guests have the best experience. They both work with such joy and enthusiasm with a passion to serve their guests. These people must be commended and promoted. They make Jetwing one of the best brands in Sri Lanka.
The Manager Mr Gayan is doing a terrific job in managing this property and the estate. They all work as a team making this bungalow a sought after holiday destination in Sri Lanka.
We travelled back home from the Olive bungalow, completely relaxed and overjoyed by our memorable experience. A massive thank you to Chef Kumara, head butler Siva and Manager Mr Gayan for giving us an outstanding stay at Olive Bunglow Welimada. They make Jetwing one of the best brands in the hospitality industry in Sri Lanka.
