Romantic experience.
We had a wonderful stay at Thaala Bentota. The property is beautiful, with stunning beach views and a peaceful atmosphere that made our vacation truly relaxing. One of the highlights was the romantic dinner on the beach—it was beautifully arranged and created a memorable experience.
The food was absolutely delicious, with a great variety of dishes to choose from, and every meal was fresh and flavorful. The staff were warm, friendly, and attentive, making us feel welcome throughout our stay. We highly recommend Thaala Bentota to anyone looking for a relaxing beachfront getaway with excellent hospitality and unforgettable dining experiences.

Perfect getaway we enjoyed it
We had a nice stay at Thaala bentota with my family. It was an amazing stay from the beginning until our departure we had a nice stay. Food was delicious and location is amazing.

Not What We Expected at All
I recently stayed at Thaala Bentota with a group of friends, and unfortunately, it was a very disappointing experience from start to finish.
We were really looking forward to a relaxing and fun getaway, but the hotel failed to meet even basic expectations. The rooms were not properly cleaned when we checked in—dusty surfaces, stained bedsheets, and a general lack of attention to detail. For a place that markets itself as a quality beachfront hotel, this was quite shocking.
The service was another major letdown. The staff seemed uninterested and slow to respond to requests. Simple things like getting extra towels or assistance took far too long, and at times we felt like we were being ignored altogether.
Food quality was below average. The buffet lacked variety, and several dishes were either cold or didn’t taste fresh. Considering the price we paid, we expected much better.
The pool and common areas were overcrowded and not well-maintained, which made it hard for our group to enjoy any time together. Overall, the hotel lacked the vibe and comfort we were hoping for on a friends’ trip.
Sadly, this stay did not live up to the photos or online reviews. I wouldn’t recommend Thaala Bentota, especially if you’re traveling with friends and expecting a fun and comfortable experience.

The biggest issue was the customer service. The staff were not very attentive or welcoming, and it often felt like our concerns were ignored. Good hospitality can make a huge difference, but that was missing during our stay.
The food was another major letdown. Based on the hotel’s reputation, we expected much better quality and flavor. While there was a decent variety, the taste was below our expectations, and several dishes were bland and unmemorable.
Overall, our friends’ trip wasn’t as enjoyable as we had hoped because of the poor service and disappointing dining experience. We hope the management takes guest feedback seriously and improves these areas in the future.
