Great place with fair rates

The staff was really helpful and friendly. Other than clean rooms there is a spacious living area where you can relax and spend some quality time.One of the greatest places around mount lavinia for the money you spend.

Beautiful building

Really lovely staff. The building itself is a really beautiful and spacious place. Difficult to find hostel at night though.
Amazing common area. Would be the perfect place to go with a group of friends. The place even had a ping pong table!
No air con in rooms which made sleeping uncomfortable and the beds were a little shorter than expected.
The cheapest way to get to the hostel is to take the airport shuttle bus to Fort Train station then take the train to Mount Lavinia train station. Hostel about 20 min walk from the station. This costs less than 150 rupees. Taxi costs about 3500 rupees.

Nice guesthouse

Good location, room is very cool with a fan, and the people here are really cool and willing to help you. The guy took us for a tour on the beach. I definitely recommend it for a stay in Colombo-Mount Lavinia location.

Nice hostel!

Very Nice hostel in Mount lavinia.
Friendly and very helpful staff! No air conditon but fans in all rooms, still very warm tho.
But would definitely recommend!!
Our taxi driver had a little hard time finding the place but everyone is very helpful so we found it eventually.

The best introduction to the country

I arrived late at night after my flight. As a solo traveller I was a bit nervous but this only lasted until I got to the doors. The family are so welcoming, kind and friendly. The son took me to a great local restaurant and told me what food to try. Then we sat on the hostel roof. He is great to talk to! The mother is so friendly and treats you like her children. She is knowledgable and caring. One of the guests was sick and she was looking after him. I left my bag there for a month and when I returned to collect it, it felt like I was visiting family. The location is near the beautiful and non-touristic Mount Lavinia beach, only a stone's throw away from the bustle of the hectic city centre of Colombo but you feel like you're in a different city entirely. If you want to learn straight away about the amazing Sri Lankan hospitality, come here. Plus, you are close to their gorgeous coastline.
