Peaceful stay

We had an exceptional experience at Windloft Retreat in Deltota. Our two-night stay was incredibly peaceful, surrounded by a cool breeze and breathtaking views of Hanguranketha, Rikiligaskada, and Loolkandura. Yasas and his team provided outstanding service, and the simplicity of the food was matched only by its deliciousness. We enjoyed refreshing walks down to the town and up to the Great Valley estate community. A truly memorable retreat with top-notch hospitality and stunning scenery. Highly recommended – a solid 5-star stay.

Bad Refund experience

I'm disappointed with the way my refund request has been handled.
I had paid Rs. 20,000 as an advance for a one-night booking at Windloft Retreat. The hotel later informed me that they were unable to accommodate the booking due to floods, landslides, and access-road issues after the Dithwa.
As the hotel was unable to provide the accommodation, I requested a refund of my Rs. 20,000 advance payment on 13 July 2026. The hotel acknowledged my request and agreed to process the refund.
However, despite several follow-ups on 2 August, 6 August and 10 August, I have still not received the refund or a clear update. On 3 August, a staff member named Shiran informed me that he was new and would update me, but there has been no resolution.
I understand that the hotel experienced difficulties due to the natural disaster, and I have no issue with the cancellation itself. My concern is simply the long delay in returning the advance payment and the lack of proper communication.
I hope the management, particularly the responsible management/owner, will look into this matter and arrange the Rs. 20,000 refund promptly.
I would be happy to update this review if the matter is resolved.

Amazing location

Windloft retreat is situated on a hilltop in deltota and has a breathtaking view. You can see galaga and deltota Town as well as other mountains. I like pine trees with grass mountains around the hotel. I think every car can reach the hotel with careful driving. I parked my car in deltota and went by tuk tuk which was arranged by the hotel. Tuk-tuk fare was 1600 for up and down. No flexible check-in and check-out times. Fortunately no need for us. The room was spacious and clean. It has A/C, hot water and an amazing view and no heater. They provided amenities and iron. Breakfast was varied and tasty. Our dinner dishes were not tasty. The hospitality of the staff was average.

A beautiful night spent in the misty cold between the mountains. Windloft Retreat is associated with a beautiful environment that no one would ever believe. The beautiful surroundings and the silence of the surrounding environment gave us a chance to breathe freely as we lead a competitive life. What should be appreciated above all is the excellence of hospitality shown to us by the staff working at the hotel. Especially the manager of the hotel, Yasas, before we arrived at the Windloft, from the moment I made the reservation until I arrived at the hotel, he was very friendly, enthusiastic and charming, informing me of everything in order and even leading me to the hotel without going astray. And throughout our stay, he and his staff provided us with the best possible hospitality. Very clean rooms and clean environment should be highly appreciated. Also very delicious food should be remembered.
I recommend Windloft to anyone who wants to freely experience the beauty of the environment and truly experience the hospitality (I think the days when Mr. Yesus is at the hotel are the best). This is the best place. I will definitely come back.

Jem of the Red Bungalow

One of the unique hotels I have been to. The atmosphere is very calm and beautiful. The hotel is a Old Bungalow which has been converted to a Beautiful hotel. The hotel is surrounded by lofty misty mountains and lush vegetation. It will take few seconds to cover the area with mist. The hotel staff is very supportive, and they go beyond expectations to make your stay is a extraordinary. (Specially Yasas The Manager. He is Jem of the Red Bungalow). The Food is tasty. They serve handy Sri Lankan Breakfast it’s Not huge but tasty and satisfied. Visitors can engage in Some activities to make your stay is a remarkable such as Climb up to Windloft Seat and Pine Forest. The hotel has a organic tea estate, organic vegetable farm, and a beautiful garden on their own. This place is really calm and nice. they got some rules protect that environment for good reason. I definitely Recommended this place for anyone who love to calm environment and great Hospitality.
