A wonderful stay
We absolutely loved our stay at Hotel Oleena. Our hosts, Jeewa, Masha and Oleena, were the loveliest, kindest and most caring people you could ever wish to meet. Our room was peaceful, spotlessly clean and comfortable with a big balcony where we loved to sit and listen to the birds. Our breakfast each day was very tasty with a good selection and our evening meal, freshly cooked by Masha to our taste (spicy!), was delicious. We loved our trips with Jeewa in his tuk tuk (Dambulla Cave Temple, the Golden Temple, Pidurangala and Ritigala) and he also organised a fantastic elephant safari and wonderful local massage for us (all at a reasonable price). We will definitely return!

Accomodation with a lovely atmosphere.
The accommodation here was very nice - in the middle of the jungle. We were there for 5 nights. I recommend it to everyone who likes nature and likes to look at the surrounding greenery. You can walk to the center in 10 minutes and meet all smiling and friendly people along the way or you can take a tuk tuk. The owner Jeewa and his family are incredibly nice and will arrange everything for you - a perfect Safari, transportation by car or tuk tuk, trips, massage, etc. and always at a great price. The breakfasts here were excellent, you can choose from European or Sri Lankan. You can also order an excellent dinner from them for a low price. The lady of the house is an excellent cook. Overall, excellent accommodation at a great price. We recommend :)

Great homestay in Habarana.
In July 2026, my wife, adult son, and I stayed for five nights at the Oleena Homestay in the town of Habarana. Surrounded by nature, the accommodation exceeded our expectations. We usually walked into town, a journey that took about 15 minutes, though tuk-tuk taxis were readily available. Our host, Jeewa, along with his wife and 10-year-old daughter, were incredibly friendly and kind. Jeewa was very helpful in arranging all the excursions we had planned, always striving to secure the best possible prices—especially for transportation. Since there were three of us, we preferred traveling by car for greater comfort. The accommodation was clean and everything ran smoothly. Jeewa’s wife is an excellent cook, preparing wonderful breakfasts as well as main meals. The homestay has a relaxed, family-like atmosphere, and we can highly recommend it.

Amazing vacation in Habarana
We had an amazing experience at this homestay during our family vacation. We stayed for 5 nights and had 2 rooms. Both rooms were clean and comfortable. The highlight was the location, it is not located next to the main street but rather a short distance away from it in the nature, with beautiful vegetation around you and monkeys jumping on your roof, therefore if you are a lover of nature, this is the place for you.
The owners of the homestay were also amazing and super friendly. Masha is a great cook so you can have food there at restaurant quality, and Jeewa has been soo helpful organising our trips, arranging drivers for us and more, so we did not have to worry about anything and could simply enjoy our vacation.
Overall, our time here was flawless and very enjoyable :)

A joy to stay here
My time staying with this family was wonderful, from Jeewa's help with organising tours and Masha's cooking. The room was lovely and the gardens peaceful.
