Awesome guys

We stayed 3 nights in this hotel and we passed a good experience.
Beds are confortable and the breakfast perfect.
Some nights, guys stayed with us to discuss about Sri Lanka, listen music ...
I recommend it !!

Warm family . Helpful friend.

The host Chanak speak excellent english. It's nice to have the serene environment a bit distant from the main down and enjoy the night sitting at the table and drink something at the outdoor table.
And Chanak is super helpful. He even help to to find a hotel in another city and contact to bus station for me when I forget my backpack and laptop on the bus. And keep calling for my safety.
So I am grateful for everything here.

Needs renaming Days Grim

Really sorry but need to say this, this is not a good hotel to choose. It was perhaps more of a homestay than a hotel and not expensive but even so you should be able to expect cleanliness. Booked for 2 nights to catch the last 2 days of cricket as our hotel had no more availability. We had no choice but to stay the first night as it was late and we were having a monsoon downpour. We checked out first thing after an appalling night.
I'll pick out some of the bad points as there were no good points to review.
There were heavily scented air freshers everywhere which effected your breathing, we presume these were to cover the smell of damp, cigarette smoke and drains.
It is a very run down place in need of a refurb or rebuild.
The bed linen and towels desperately needed replacing.
When you travel round this part of the world you should expect to see some insects in your room however NOT huge ants nests with lines of ants carrying their findings which were coming from the dead fly type thing under my pillow on the bed. One nest was in the shower base so unfortunately they all died. Dead ants and their prey all around our feet. There's definitely termites in the woodwork around the rickety door and window frame as you will see on the photos. I won't tell you about the toilet as this wouldn't be fair to my fellow reviewer's and readers.
We had difficulty understanding who were staff and who were guests as everyone seemed to be related in one way or another, brother, wife, mother, daughter, husband etc don't get me wrong these people were friendly enough but it was very strange. When we were trying to check out in the morning we found men sleeping on the floor and couches in the common/not working TV room (Were they staff or guest?!?!). We were out of there like a shot, headed straight to the cricket ground and had breakfast at a lovely little bakery served by a group of really sweet ladies who I think fell in love with my husband lol. We had to have a good ending which we did when England won.

Property needs some refurbishment and better hygiene standards

I was placed in a large room with space for 3 people as a solo traveller. That was the only positive. The bathroom was smell for the whole stay suggesting a poor plumbing system. There were ants crawling around the bathroom sink. The mosquito net was not large enough for the bed so I couldn't use it. Luckily I don't think there are many mosquitoes in Kandy so I wasn't bitten. The bedsheet was worn and had holes and light stains. They do sell tickets for the cultural dance show and dropped me off there for free. Breakfast was basic with toast, egg, papaya and watermelon. Overall, not a positive stay and I wouldn't recommend this place.

From Mauritius Shine n Mot

Great value for money. This place is clean and has everything you need. They even cooked fish we bought. Charming staff. It is a small exotic cosy bungalow much like we have on our own island. You will not need the mosquito net. Bathroom is european style to reassure you. Clean above all. We were surprised that they even had a hair dryer which we did not have in five stars. Strongly recommended.
