Run by a local family, Villa Shade is a charming and peaceful property surrounded by green gardens, just 4 km from Negombo City. Bicycles are available for rent, while traditional Sri Lankan breakfast is served upon request at an extra cost.

A haven of peace, ideal after a long flight before starting the tour
We did a tour in Sri Lanka and chose Villa Shade for the first nights. For us a hit and highly recommended.
A haven of peace with lovely cottages in a beautiful garden. We enjoyed the pool, cottage and garden, all very well maintained.. The owner, and the team, are very friendly and helpful. Through his local network he has recommended some nice trips which he has arranged for us from A to Z. The boat trip in the lagoon with Norman from Ave Maria Boat Rides is, for us, one of the highlights of Sri Lanka (how driven was that man to make us experience an unforgettable boat trip)
Breakfast and dinner are tasty and very extensive.
Vila Shade is the ideal place to relax after a long flight before starting the tour.
We were so convinced that we adjusted our last night, after the tour, and booked again with villa Shade. We were warmly received and it felt like coming back home. With a delicious wine and a beer (at very democratic prices) on our terrace we ended our trip.
Thank you Shiraj for following up our lost luggage, arranging the transfers and getting off your hospitality was great. We have been home for a month now and still have to think about villa shade (your 3rd child) every day.

Cosy, relaxing stay with the sweetest family
This is a very cosy and nice place that me and my family did visit at the beginning of our trip in Sri Lanka.
The family-owned place was very neat and clean. The food was local and tasted great. The pool was also great to kids.

We only stayed for one night just before catching our flight, but we received such a warm welcome from Shiraj and his team, who took great care of us throughout our stay.
The villa is clean, with a lovely pool perfect for relaxing and is located just 20 minutes from the airport.

Beautiful welcoming space
This was the first place we stayed when we arrived in Sri Lanka and it didn’t disappoint. The grounds are stunning with a beautiful flower garden. My son loved the basketball court and the pool. The staff were welcoming and the owner was lovely. He showed my son the fish pond in his home and let him feed them. They also shared birthday cake with us in the morning for the owner’s birthday. The breakfast was a traditional Sri Lankan breakfast and delicious. Would definitely recommend!

A green haven of peace in Negombo.
Villa Shade is a particularly beautiful green oasis in Negombo. The kitchen is excellent and everything there is clean and well maintained. They employ disadvantaged young students from the hotel school to help them get started in life. Particularly noble! After arriving in Sri Lanka we stayed there for a few nights before moving on into Sri Lanka. On departure Shiraj Peiris, the owner, said that if we could ever use help in Sri Lanka again, we could always call him! And let that come in handy at the end of our trip, because our return trip via Dubai was cancelled because of the war in Iran! So immediately called and we could go there again! He helped me find a decent travel agency in Negombo, which helped us get a (pricey) return flight. And then two more later, but we are retired so time enough! Afterwards we were happy with it because the prices went up even further! We then extended our trip by two weeks after a few days and arrived back at Villa Shade the last days before departure, so for the third time! It started to become our second home, especially since we were invited to a family gathering one evening. It was a special experience to see Sri Lankans enjoying life together! We plan to visit Sri Lanka again and then we will definitely start again at Villa Shade!
