Unfortunately, this was not a good experience. We had stayed here probably 10 years ago and it was a great experience. It was not clean from the lobby to the room and we did not end up staying at this hotel.

Ugh, the towels weren't fresh, and I even saw a bug! The elevator was broken the whole time, which was a huge problem since my partner is handicapped. And because I booked through a third party, I can't even get a refund. 😢

I usually don’t write reviews. However, this property requires one.
The front desk is helpful! Love love love the lady with gray hair who seems as if she has been there a while, I think it was Beth! Hands down, a keeper. She knows how to be hospitable.
The ROOM. Disgusting. $400. Gone. Ashes everywhere. Room has probably never been vacuumed. Sheets were flipped upside down. Sand in the tub. Peanut shells next to the bed, soda caps on the floor, the pouch furniture was covered in mildew. The sliding door barely works. The excuse from the Assitant General Manager- “ma’am we are a waterfront property and it is in season, we are busy”

My trip was August 27 this year 2026. I’ve looked on the website and I was supposed had breakfast with the rooms. The hotel did not serve breakfast. I open the door to the hotel and I was not impress and The smell hit me and is just terrible. The room was terrible. the hallway stay junkie and elevator, didn’t work and I’m an and I’m a handicap person. and I had to limp up upstairs because the elevator did not work

I stayed one night at the Travel Lodge Wyndham Hotel at Kill Devil Hills.
1. The building is really old and not maintained well. The carpet in the room was damp and dirty. The door handle to the restroom was broke.
2. The elevator was not properly working. It sounded like it breaks down regularly. The staff said it was over heated. It worked again about hour later. Any handicap people should be aware of this.
3. I made the reservation based on the Wyndham name and location. The location was good, close to the beach and other shopping amenities. But the facility was eroding the good name of Wyndham Hotel.
4.Rooms are poorly sound attenuated.
5. Close to one of the main streets and very noisy.
