Grand Hallways & Pristine Potatoes

Such a great place!! Everything felt grandly spacious: tall ceilings, decorative entrance, very wide hallways, size-able room. The room was excellent and very clean; it has a beautiful view of the Kansas River! Everything was quite peaceful. I honestly just came on here to rave about the breakfast. The farm fresh scrambled eggs, diced potatoes, yogurt toppings section, and strong coffee were awesome. They did amazingly. The staff we interacted with were quite kind as well. Thank you, Springhill Suites!!

Do not stay here

The excuse for not ac is it was a old shopping center and just stay in room and it is cool. You sweat eating breakfast. No bar for drink just the snack area. The worst hotel in the Marriott collect. As Gold member we are moving hotels 2 day early. No working pool or hot tub as advertised.

Most disturbing stay I’ve experienced

I stayed at SpringHill Suites Lawrence Downtown in May 2026 with my family, and I would not stay here again.
The condition of the property was shocking. During our stay, I personally saw sagging and bulging ceiling tiles, stained ceiling areas, open/missing ceiling sections, buckets or trash cans placed under areas that appeared to be dripping, uneven flooring in common areas, and dark staining or growth-like areas around parts of the ceiling and building interior.
The hotel also had a strong musty/mildew odor in multiple areas. These conditions were not tucked away in some back hallway. We had to pass through affected common areas to get to guest rooms and the elevator, and some of the visible water-damaged areas were near public guest spaces.
The overall condition made me very uncomfortable having my children there. The property did not feel clean, well-maintained, or appropriate for families. We experienced symptoms during and after the stay, including headache/irritation and worsened symptoms for me, and one of my children had swollen/irritated eyes afterward. I am not claiming to know the exact cause, but the odor, visible water damage, and general condition were concerning enough that I would not recommend this hotel to anyone sensitive to musty indoor air, mildew smells, or poorly maintained buildings.
The photos I attached show what I personally saw during my stay. Based on my experience, I would not book this hotel again.

You won't find nicer or more helpful staff

The staff here were the NICEST people. Every single person greeted us warmly -- even when we came in at 1am! The breakfast was outstanding -- fresh, hot eggs and sausage and the best oatmeal bar we've ever seen. (There was plenty more, but these were highlights). Beds were comfy. But we just can't say enough about how nice every single staff member was -- truly something noted by everyone in our group.

Exceptional customer service

I had the very best service from the beginning to the end. Carrie was very helpful and nice while checking me and my family. The next morning, Jack assisted my dad with making hot coco, lastly, Anne assisted us with taking family pictures before we departed. My over stay was exceptional, and the staff I encountered went beyond their way to make sure we were taken care of.
