Fantastic place
We’ve just come back from a short stay at heart six and had the most wonderful time.
I was a little worried after reading negative reviews but personally I couldn’t fault the place.
Yes, it’s rustic. It’s not a 5 star hotel in the city. It’s a working ranch in the middle of nowhere.
The cabin we stayed in was basic but perfectly adequate. It was clean, the bed was comfy and the shower nice and hot. The staff were friendly and the food in the restaurant lovely. The scenery was breath taking and the perfect place to unwind.
What more do you want from a ranch stay!

Mixed bag - great horse rides but the rest has concerns.
We booked a night stay at Heart Six Ranch to participate in their horse ride to a western cookout activity. This had good, meh and not so good moments.
The HORSE RIDE was very good: the horses were well cared for and definitely trustworthy…they know their job. The ride lead, or ‘wrangler” was very pleasant and seemed to also know her job. The ride itself was pretty much what I expected for a trail ride with no requirements for riding experience. Our group of 10 stopped at a nice vista and our wrangler took photos of each group (separate from the other groups), so everyone had a nice photo memory with the Teton Mountains as backdrop. At the time we did this, just the 90 minute trail ride had a posted price on their site of $140. No additional tax or gratuities when booked online.
The COOKOUT was not as advertised. Yes, you got a choice of steak or chicken. However the salad was conspicuously absent. And the atmosphere or environment was not that of a ‘20western cookout”. The food was served on the patio/deck of the lodge, adjacent to the road. It was not served out in nature as shown on their adverting. When asked, one of the staff told a fellow diner that they stopped cooking the food out in a picnic area 1 or 2 years ago. On the patio, someone placed all the food in steam table pans on a ledge near the barbecue grill which was not being used. (A steam table pan is a commercial pan used to keep cafeteria or restaurant foods warm over a steam bath while serving the food). There was a pan of well done steak, one of chicken, a veggie burger on a plate for someone, then a pan of baked beans and one half filled with macaroni & cheese.This was accompanied by a cooler with soda & water. The cost of the 90 minute trail ride was $180 PLUS 20% gratuity ($36) on the entire cost (not just the food portion), so that totaled to $216 … almost $100 more than the trail ride. A piece of overcooked steak, some beans and some mac&cheese was definitely not worth the extra $96 over the trail ride. We were told we could eat all that we wanted yet when I finished my well-done steak and Mac&cheese and decided I was still hungry…the food pans had disappear!
The CABIN we stayed in was a mixed bag. It was rustic, but there was also a lack of maintenance and safety aspects as well as uncleanliness.
Maintenance failures: The assumed wooden stairs in front of our cabin was missing . You could see where it had been. We used the stairs 3 cabins down to climb up the hill in front of the 5-6 connected “cabins” the set up was definitely that of an old motel row. Anyways, the stairs that was present was in bad shape with rotted and missing wood and a hand rail so wobbly I would not count on it supporting anyone in need. The wooden walkway in front of the building containing the cabins was similarly missing boards, showing gaps and rotted wood. Definitely not safe to walk in in the dark. After using the stairs and boardwalk once, I instead went to the far end of the building and walked up the grassy hill where there was a shallower slope. The door lock was a simple keyed door lock, not very secure but good enough given location - I don’t think that it was unsafe but might concern some who aren’t used to rural areas.
Cleanliness & upkeep: The bathroom was functional - toilet sink and shower worked with good hot water pressure. However half the lights didn’t work (2 out of a 4 light vanity light worked and the wall light did not) the single light in the room by the bed had an old shade that was disintegrating. And the bathtub did not seem to have been cleaned much as a bunch of hair clumps and some debris were loosened by turning on the tub faucet and floating in the water. Plus the tub floor was just dingy. I used a couple washcloths to stand on, these was very discolored after our showers.
It is quiet, it is rustic, but it also needs basic cleaning and some maintenance to at least address safety issues.

The hotel was fine for our hiking trip. We would stay here again. This is an older hotel, and things in our room were adequate. Food was great and it was nice sitting on the patio watching the cowhands bring in the horses and mules nightly.

Location is good for a visit to Grand Teton Park.
The rooms were bare bones but clean. No place to set luggage or hang wet towels. Lighting was poor. Rooms poorly insulated for sound. Railing going up to rooms was wobbly and unsafe.

How can a rough and tough cowboy outfit like this feature a restaurant which is out of coffee first thing in the morning. Completely out! Not simply simply not having any made but actually out of grounds and everything.
Restaurant with serve yourself, eat with plasticware, no wait staff. Very low ball.
Food was mediocre at best, and the bacon was almost raw.
