Great location in MV, historic hotel

Location is perfect for walking around, getting food,bus and ferry. But still quiet.
Atmosphere is friendly, cozy, beachy
Rooms are clean, could use some updates, otherwise fine
Value is as expected for Martha's Vineyard. But staff will get you anything you ever can need if asked.

Nice hotel - though be aware no elevator and our room was on the 4th floor - travelled light and just 2 nights so it was ok. No morning coffee service beyond a kerige which was a bummer

The accommodations were very nice, the staff was very friendly and helpful. My only negative was that there was not an elevator and we were on the third floor with the toddler. Also, the window unit didn't really cool the room.

Way overpriced for what it is

I paid almost $900 a night for a suite with "water view" and expected a lot more at this price point.
As another reviewer pointed out, the suite appears to be a converted attic space and has very low ceilings. I'm 6'3" and had barely an inch of clearance in the room. In the (tiny!) bathroom, I had to duck so as not to run into the exposed lightbulb. I brought this up at the front desk and was told to book an even more expensive suite next time.
The windows are at floor level, so to actually see the water view, you have to bend over, which I guess I had to do half the time anyway due to the low ceilings.
The window AC is loud to the point of keeping you from sleeping and looks like it didn't cost more than $100. An insult at this price point.

Location was perfect in Oak Bluffs close to the ferry terminal and nearby attractions. The staff was very attentive and friendly and the little things at the hotel helped to make the stay enjoyable like the popcorn, coffee/tea, outdoor seating and common areas. Really enjoyed our stay with the family at Summercamp and would highly recommend. The only thing I wish was different was that the recreation room was utilized for 2 out of the 3 days we were there. If we were told that upon check-in it would have helped set the expectation with our kids, as opposed to the kids seeing what was available in the rec room on day 1 and then constantly asking if they could go only to find out that it was closed to a private event.
