Just stay here - you'll love it!
We absolutely loved this hotel!
We stayed in one of the two-bedroom waterfront cottages (Rose #10) for three nights and genuinely didn't want to leave. The Dunes manages to be a blast from the past—wonderfully retro while at the same time feeling design-forward—which is no easy combination to pull off.
Our cottage had a nicely sized living room, kitchen, lovely screened-in porch, two small bedrooms, and a hall bathroom. It's a relatively compact footprint, yet somehow never felt cramped.
Every morning, coffee and pastries were delivered to our cottage in a super-cute tote, with additional breakfast and lunch options available in the lobby and lunch also served at the pool. The kitchen was stocked with beverages and snacks as well, most of which were complimentary.
We made good use of the shuttle into town, the kayaks and paddleboards, and the boat over to the beach. Everything was absolutely flawless, and the hotel staff were super friendly and on-point at every turn.
The lawn by the pool is set up with a variety of games, and around sundown, s'mores kits are available at the fire pit—a small touch that perfectly fits the relaxed, nostalgic feel of the place.
We can't wait to return. We had such a great experience at The Dunes that I'd happily seek out other Atlantic Hospitality properties based on this stay alone.

Totally Spoiled At Ogunquit's Dunes on the Waterfront
Charming stay! We stayed in the sandpiper number 11 cottage which happened to also be one of the original 1935 cottages. Landscape was groomed to perfection inviting into our screened porch and side patio. Beadboard, original art, high-thread cotton sheets, a hook outside for our morning coffee, newspaper, and pastry delivery, daily service if desired, farmhouse sink with mini frig & freezer, large bathroom, comfortable sitting room with fireplace, s'mores at 6:30pm, golfcart shuttle into town or to beach crossover, pontoon boat rides on the tidal river in AMs, on-site lodge for check-in and info/assistance that also has a drink & smoothie bar inside. Homemade cookies in the afternoon don't hurt either.

An excellent stay!
We had a wonderful time at Dunes on the waterfront! The bedroom cottage was perfect for our family. They felt a little short staffed (we were there at the beginning of the season), but the staff that was there was very helpful. As imagined, the breakfast delivery it’s so much fun. The only issue we came across was one morning we woke to a mouse in our bathroom! We got it out and told the front desk. We expected someone to call or check in but no one did. I also noted this in our after check out feedback form and never heard anything. I imagine this is a rare event (the property it beautiful, well maintained and close to trees…wildlife happens), but it would be nice to have be cared for. I would still return despite this!

The Definition of Relaxation
We just returned from our first Ogunquit trip of the season and once again had an absolutely wonderful stay at The Dunes on the Waterfront. From the moment we arrived, everything was perfect. The property is beautifully maintained, peaceful, and captures everything that makes Ogunquit special. The setting along the Ogunquit River is simply stunning, especially in the early morning and evening.
Our cottage was spotless, comfortable, and thoughtfully prepared. Every detail reflected the care and pride the staff puts into the guest experience. The grounds are immaculate, the atmosphere was relaxing, and there was a true feeling of luxury throughout the entire stay. It truly felt like the perfect way to begin the season.
What continues to set The Dunes apart is the hospitality. The staff is consistently warm, welcoming, professional, and genuinely attentive. You never feel like just another reservation — they make you feel truly appreciated as a guest.
The location is ideal: close enough to enjoy everything Ogunquit has to offer, yet quiet and serene enough to feel like a retreat. After another exceptional stay, we’re already looking forward to returning to The Dunes.
Highly recommended to anyone looking for a classic Maine coastal experience done exactly right.

Beginning a family tradition
We just booked our next Summer stay and I realized I never posted a review from our first visit! We had a wonderful stay last July. Beautiful location. Friendly staff. Close enough to walk into town or they have a wonderful trolley. We can't wait for our next visit!
