A warm, thoughtful hotel experience — exactly what a boutique property should be
After staying at several larger, more corporate hotels where the focus seemed to be on efficiency rather than creating a memorable guest experience, The Beatrice was a wonderful reminder of what makes a boutique hotel special. From the moment we arrived, the hotel felt intentional, welcoming, and connected to its surroundings.
The staff were exceptional. Every interaction we had was warm, friendly, and genuinely helpful. They created the feeling that guests mattered, not just that they were being processed through a hotel. Small touches made a big impression. As an example, having umbrellas available at the front desk for guests to use is a simple example, but it reflects a larger philosophy of anticipating what travelers might need and making their stay easier.
The guest room itself was warm and inviting, with a comfortable design that made it feel like a place where you wanted to spend time rather than simply a place to sleep. The same care extended to the bathroom, which felt thoughtfully designed and welcoming and clean.
The hotel also did a wonderful job creating spaces that encouraged guests to enjoy the property. In the morning, the lobby offered small bites that made starting the day easy and pleasant. The rooftop bar was a highlight of our stay. We attended a World Cup viewing party there, and it was a genuinely fun experience. The space was beautiful, the atmosphere was lively without being overwhelming, and the bartender and staff were fantastic.
What stood out most about The Beatrice was the sense that someone had thought carefully about the entire guest experience. The hotel did not feel like a collection of rooms and amenities; it felt like a place with personality and purpose.
For me, the Beatrice succeeded because it combines thoughtful design, welcoming staff, and a genuine sense of place.
This was a hotel that became part of the experience rather than simply a place to stay. I would happily return and would strongly recommend The Beatrice to travelers who value character, comfort, and hospitality over the predictability of a large chain property.
