This Hampton Inn was a great place to stay. The hotel is clean, contemporary, and conveniently close to Smithfield's historic downtown. The staff was very friendly from check-in to check-out, the beds were very comfy, and the complimentary hot breakfast had lots of delicious options. Excellent starting point for exploring the area; I would definitely return!

GROSS!!!!!!! BEWARE DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!!! THEY SHOULD BE SHUT DOWN!!

Let. me start by saying a positive, the front desk was professional. The hotel rooms are disgusting and if you read all the other reviews from even 4 years ago with pictures, same experience. So instead of going on Google or here first I email the city, county ,Hilton and the manager! I mean their responses to these disgusting rooms means they are aware of the issue and HAVE NOT fixed them!!!!!! 4 years later still The owner, Hilton and management should be ashamed or better yet....you sleep in your own hotel rooms! Mold ,filth just to start. Now mold around an electrical outlet that means a fire hazard!!! I would suggest everyone who has ever stayed and had the filth experience contact the local inspectors for Isle of Wright County and the City of Smithfield. And I hope something is actually done this time around. I will post pictures, not all of them but some to give you an idea.

Very poorly maintained hotel

The room was very heavy used and not properly maintained. The one bed had hair on the sheet. You can see from the pictures. Very disappointed in Hilton. I changed my sheets. We did move rooms after the first night.

Clean, but needs updating

I'll start with the positives: our room was clean and our bed was comfortable. Front desk staff was very friendly and professional. The location is convenient to downtown Smithfield.
Now the negatives: the whole place is in need of an upgrade. It's just overall tired and worn looking. The pool was closed- disappointing, but repairs/ maintenance are understandable. We visited the breakfast buffet at 9:30 am and it was pretty sparse and not being refilled. We've stayed in many Hamptons and have reasonable expectations for the typical breakfast offerings, but this buffet was just sad. The eggs were very wet and awful. The oatmeal was thin and watery. We didn't bother with it the next morning, so I don't know if this was the usual for this hotel.

The pool was closed and they said it has been closed for over a year and have no idea when it will be repaired . None of that was mentioned on any of the booking sites. The pool was one of the reasons I chose to stay. Don't waste your time here...
