Great stay with a baseball Team
Location is very convenient for a team who attend a baseball tournament in Cooperstown. The service was top notch and the price was very good considering it was July 4th weekend. The room are very clean and as per the description on the website. Amenities was also very good as they provide beach towels and floats. We were able to utilize the common room by the reception to play cards and to watch FIFA games World Cup with our group. Finally, the location is great by the lake. Beautiful and peaceful!

Manager Jennifer screamed profanity — we have it on video
I know this review is going to sound made up. It doesn’t feel real even having lived it. But we have this on video, so I can back up every word.
We stayed at Bayside Inn and Marina for 3 nights in June. While my children were playing outside, Jennifer, who identified herself as the manager, followed them, approached us, and began aggressively shouting. This entire exchange is on video and available on request.
This wasn’t an isolated incident. During our stay we also witnessed Jennifer:
• Throw out a kids’ tackle box that belonged to our group and take fishing poles that were never returned
• Yell at a group of adults who were sitting calmly in a common area
• Yell at kids in the arcade who were behaving normally, with parents actively supervising, and she unplugged all of the arcade machines
• Swear at children on the beach, which led to an adult stepping in and the situation becoming physical
• Appear to be under the influence, and hit another parked car while driving through the driveway
At no point did she attempt to de-escalate or ask what was happening before shouting or confiscating belongings. This is a manager with a clear pattern of hostility toward guests, especially families with children.
I’ve also seen Jennifer’s replies to other negative reviews on here, where she claims the reviewers are all the same group posting under different names. That’s simply not true — some of those reviews are from guests in different countries who have never met us or each other. The consistency across strangers’ accounts, not a coordinated campaign, is exactly why this should concern anyone considering booking here.
We have video evidence and would welcome ownership reviewing it directly.

Thank you for your one-sided review. I realize that you believe that your children did nothing wrong. I guess the damage to the property and guest complaints were false and imagined by myself and maintenance. My response to your bullets are as follows:
- I did throw out garbage that was spread throughout the beach. The fishing poles were left after your children were kicked off the docks for the 3rd time on the day of your arrival. I didn't want or have your fishing poles.
- The loud adults sitting in the common area were informed that there was a guest room right next to the common room that wasn't part of their group. I received a complaint and didn't want them to continue to disturb them.
- The kids yelling and banging in the arcade were told it was closing at 9:45pm. This was on the second night of noise and fishing off docks. The games were never unplugged. That would be difficult and require moving large games to access all of the cords.
- I told the children to leave the beach because there was no adult supervision. I never swore until the women (that wasn't a guest) followed me around the beach body checking me repeatedly while a hoard of children chanted "fight, fight, fight". I never touched anyone. A guest mentioned to 2 of my staff that she couldn't believe the "f bombs" that were coming out of the kids mouths. She even mentioned it to a couple parents. Their response "thank you but they aren't mine". That was the common theme all weekend. It was strange how there were so many parentless children here.
- I don't make it common practice to walk around the property yelling at kids that do nothing wrong.
- I was not under any influence other than lack of sleep due to the fact of being up until 1:30, 2 nights in a row, to make sure children weren't on the docks, damaging property, or disrupting other guests. I did hit the bumper of my boyfriends truck while watching the backup camera on my car and misjudging how close the front of my car was to the back of my boyfriends. An honest mistake that had nothing to do with speed or anything else other than watching the camera and not the front of the car.
All current reviews are from the same team(s) with children that were unsupervised and encouraged to do as they please for 3 nights. On the last night several people, along with their children, were invited from a different property and allowed to go to the beach without an adult. The negative reviews are an obvious coordinated campaign. Both team's, along with the invited team from a neighboring property, were here for the Cooperstown Backyard Baseball Classic weekend tournament. They may not have known each other before arriving but they made friends while here, which is a great thing! Maybe they can rent a big house in the middle of the woods together the next time they play at the same tournament.

Avoid this place!
DO NOT STAY HERE WITH A TEAM!
I have never felt so inclined to write a review as a warning to other families. While Bayside Inn and Marina is a beautiful spot and the facilities are basic but totally fine, the service was appalling. To clarify, the front office staff was lovely, yet the general manager was unhinged.
We stayed there this past weekend with our baseball team in hopes of having a place to unwind after baseball games. For the most part, the facilities were conducive to this. However, every interaction with the GM was volatile, aggressive and unnecessary. For example, our team of boys were playing wiffle ball on the beach shortly after 8pm while we were bbqing. The GM sped out of her driveway, ripping her fender off because she hit another car, then almost hit kids who were walking on the path. When she was told to slow down, she yelled at the parents and continued to drive dangerously fast around a blind curve to go to the beach to say “get the F off the beach!” This resulted in a full on confrontation from parents staying at the resort but also concerned neighbours who witnessed her aggression. Perhaps the boys were on the beach after the beach was closed, but there is a manner in which this should have been approached.
Multiple times she used excessive profanity towards children and adults. It was unnecessary, unnerving and completely inappropriate!
The police arrived and all guests were happy to see them arrive as we were concerned for our safety.
I should mention, this is not one group posting about the weekend. There were multiple teams who were not together. We all had the same atrocious experience.
If you are traveling as a couple, perhaps this would be a good place to stay but I will end with DO NOT STAY HERE WITH A BASEBALL TEAM!!!!

This guest is from the same team(s) as the previous reviews. The kids ignored the management and maintenance countless times about the rule of not fishing off our docks. Docks are private for the safety of guests and our boatowners property. They created a system of alerting each other when maintenance or management went to check on the docks and beach. The parents encouraged the behavior and allowed the kids to disrupt other guests and cause damage to the property for 3 days. On the last day they invited dozens of guests from the neighbor property to do the same. The police were called after one guest from the neighbor property followed the manager around the beach body checking her as the hoard of kids chanted "fight, fight, fight". The parents allowed the children to do as they pleased regardless of rules and safety. If you are coming for Cooperstown Backyard Classic baseball Please don't stay with us. Your disregard for other guests and boatowners is appalling. We don't want you!

Please do NOT stay at this motel
I would not recommend staying at Bayside Inn & Marina Cooperstown based on our experience. Jennifer, the manager was extremely rude, unprofessional, and lacked even basic customer service skills. Instead of treating guests with respect, she yelled at children in a way that was completely inappropriate and made everyone feel uncomfortable and unsafe.
Hospitality is about making guests feel welcome, and unfortunately, this was the exact opposite. The manager's behavior was confrontational, disrespectful, and unacceptable. She repeatedly swore at both children and adults, creating a hostile environment that no guest should have to experience.
Based on this experience, I was genuinely shocked that someone who behaves this way is still employed in a customer-facing hospitality role.
Hospitality is about making guests feel welcome, and unfortunately, this was the exact opposite. The manager's behavior was confrontational, disrespectful, and unacceptable. She repeatedly swore at both children and adults, creating a hostile environment that no guest should have to experience.

Would not recommend !!
I was really disappointed with my experience at the Bayside Inn & Marina. The customer service was terrible from the start, and the staff came across as rude and unfriendly.
The biggest issue was watching staff yell at a group of kids who were just playing on the beach. They weren’t causing any problems, and there was no reason to speak to them the way they did. It was uncomfortable to watch and really changed the atmosphere.
A little patience and kindness go a long way, especially when families are staying there. Based on what I saw and experienced, I wouldn’t stay here again or recommend it to others.
