Modern, fancy, all top notch except for some of the bartenders that need attitude adjustments
Top notch Marriot experience here. I'm a bonvoy member but also mentioned to the front desk when booking that I own a hotel as well. They gave me the royal treatment and upgraded me to a very special room on the 7th floor. When you check in you get a poker chip to get a free signature drink at their bar. More about that later.
I was treated with such respect during the check in process, got there early and they still got me in. Even the manager was there at the desk and was super nice. I opened the door to the room and was surprised to find, although minimal design, a really unique room with the wall lined with a lantern, a canvas carry bag, some folding stools and plenty of hooks for coats and such. On the other wall was a set of bunk beds, along with a desk that folds from the wall and an small TV there as well.
I was surprised to not find a fridge or microwave though. As you continue into the room, you come to a queen size bed facing windows on all sides, just about, very bright and airy. The bath with standing shower was very well outfitted as well. The TV was a smart TV and allows you to connect to your accounts or your own devices. Comfy bed, linens, towels, etc. For this price range it was ticking most all the boxes.
Then I freshened up to go up to the rooftop bar and when I asked the bartender about the free drink chip and something the front desk said about a signature drink, she was outrageously rude and was nasty about it, there was a guy there and he very matter of factly explained like I was an idiot that you have to redeem it downstairs. I decided to head down there. I mentioned all this to the front desk person as I went over to the downstairs bar, where the bartender there acted perturbed when I asked about this special drink, was super rude, acted too busy to help me even though I was the only one there. Thankfully the front desk guy came over, obviously embarrassed about how I was treated, and made me the drink.
Later that evening I went up to the upper bar again but the vibe was a little too bacherlorette young for me, so I left.
Breakfast is not provided but the burrito I ordered downstairs plus the cortado espresso was excellent as was my server. She was so sweet and helpful that I gave her one our very special mugs from our hotel as a gift.
Parking is a big lot but they do have eyes on it, they told me. Plus you're in walking distance to everything downtown. I wish I could have stayed longer and they are often booked solid on short notice trips, so I haven't been able to stay again.

Terrific place, downtown Springfield. Utterly walkable. Nice sized surface parking lot adjacent to hotel. Very quiet. Fantastic staff.

From the amazing, friendly staff to the clean, comfortable room to the adorable decor and amazing bar, we had the best time. I would even go so far to say best hotel I've ever stayed in. Will definitely be back!

Food was different
Me and some friends stopped in for food coming through Springfield as the burgers and fries are usually good, and are reminiscent of pub fare. This past weekend, the food was subpar. The fries were tasteless, greasy and sticky. Not normally what I expect when I come here, so I was pretty disappointed. Service was great though!

I’m sorry to hear the food missed the mark this visit, especially since you’ve had consistently better experiences with our burgers and fries in the past. Greasy, sticky fries and lackluster flavor definitely isn’t the standard we aim for, and I understand the disappointment.

Im not sure that anyone wants to hear this but it has to be said. Overall the Moxy was well cared for and clean. Yet when I lifted the pillow there was an extra member in our room. Yes, it was dead and yes I did bring i to their attention. My only request was to please have the room double checked and linens changed. Left for graduation only to come back to find that it hadnt been done but the staff was in the hallway so I gave them the benefit of the doubt that it would be taken care of before we get back from our afternoon out. Got home at 830pm and it was not dealt with and of course the cleaning staff was gone. Never again and we go to Springfield often since our son is there. The beds are horrible. My husband and I didnt sleep well and he woke up with hip and back pain. There is nowhere to sit other than your bed. You can hear everything that goes on in the rooms next to you. So if you are looking for a romantic place avoid this place like the plague. Coffee is fabulous and didn't try the food.
