GREAT Experience

Was booked here by the WRJ VA to avoid having to be driven home 2+ hours away after cataract surgery. Was not expecting very much, but was very much impressed by the reception we received. Lady at the front desk couldn’t have been much nicer. She even changed the booking of the room so I could get the points for my stay. When I asked if we could get an extended stay (checkout is 11AM) because I had a 2:15 follow up exam from my cataract surgery, she immediately said yes and made sure I had a late check out (AND WE DIDN’T HAVE TO PAY EXTRA!). We didn’t eat the breakfast there because we have a favorite breakfast restaurant in the area (Taste in W Lebanon, NH). The coffee bar that is set up in the lobby has EXCELLENT coffee. All-in-all, an excellent stay and if we ever need an overnight stay in White River Junction (WRJ), I know where I’d be booking

Woeful, dirty, poor hotel, comfy bed!

Our stay at this hotel was extremely disappointing and fell well below the standards we have come to expect from the Choice Hotels brand. I have requested a refund and not yet heard back from the online form submitted.
The room itself was tired and poorly maintained. There was mould in the bathroom, wallpaper peeling away from the walls, and a large screw protruding from the floor, which presented a genuine safety hazard. The cleanliness was also disappointing, with dog hair still visible in the room despite it supposedly being ready for new guests.
One of the main reasons we booked this hotel was to use the leisure facilities after a long day of travelling. Unfortunately, the swimming pool was closed, and this was not communicated before our arrival. On looking for a pool due to the strong smell of chlorine next to the gym, we found it unused and as a dumping ground. Had we known in advance, we would have chosen alternative accommodation. It was showing online as having a swimming pool.
The gym was equally concerning. Several pieces of equipment appeared damaged or unsafe to use, making it unsuitable for guests expecting a functional fitness facility.
The contrast between this hotel and other Choice Hotels we stayed in during our trip was significant. We had an exceptional experience at the Cambria Hotel North Conway, which demonstrated exactly how good the Choice brand can be. Sadly, this hotel fell far short of those standards.

Everything looked fine, we checked in late at night. We found a dirty sock in the bed that I stayed in and the rug was not vacuumed properly found some crumbs on the floor

This place is filthy, they know it, and they don't make any changes - they don't care

We checked in at 3:30 am and crashed into bed - fortunately... If I had seen the bathroom before laying in the bed, I would not have laid down. I went into the bathroom when we woke up and there was fresh water in the shower and on the floor, dirt in the shower, and pubic hair on the floor. The doors are rotting away in the bathroom, the frames to the ceiling tiles are rusted. There is no sink stopper and the sink doesn't drain - the sink fills up. The carpets also weren't vacuumed. I called in the cleaning crew from the hall to ask them to clean the bathroom. They indicated that they think I was given a room that was out of service because they were fully booked. I emailed the specific hotel and got an apology indicating they were sorry they couldn't exceed my expectations. Exceeding expectations??? I would be happy with met expectations with a clean room that is not a health hazard. If any other hotel had a vacancy in the area, I would have switched. It was so disgusting it made my skin crawl. I emailed the corporate Guest Reservations email with pictures, and they did not respond. I followed up with another email and got no response. I called customer service, and they said someone would reach out to me. That was over a month ago, and nothing. They know and don't care. The reviews indicate the rotting has been going on since 2022, which management responded to thanking the reviewer for letting them know. I see from other reviews that I am not the only person that has had pubic hair on their floor. I would NEVER stay in this hotel or any other Comfort Inn/Choice Hotel if you can avoid it. They know there are problems and they do not care.

We were there for only 1 night. Bed was comfortable, room was clean. Good breakfast.
