Very nice hotel in an excellent location
Wonderful location near the train station, the Ullevi and many tram/bus lines. The interior spaces are great, breakfast area, bar, kids play room, game rooms, etc.. The room was very nice, the fold down bunk beds for kids were maybe a little on the small side if you have older kids, they're fine for younger ones. Very clean, a little bit of city noise in the mornings being right in the middle of the city of course.

Wrong room, broken AC, and clogged sink
We stayed a weekend in August, and upon arrival we immediately knew we were given the wrong room. We booked a king crown room, but were given a different room that was also made for handicapable guests (that was surprisingly) much much smaller and hard to move around in for two people. We booked the same room as a friend, so we naturally compared and immediately noted the difference. The bathroom had no counter space and an old fabric shower curtain. The only place our suitcase could fit open took up the entire floor space on the side of the bed.
Our friend’s room had a wide hallway, furniture, cabinets, a spacious floorplan, and a bathroom with a Glassdoor shower and a full counter. Again, we booked the same room type.
We went down to let them know that we seems to have gotten the wrong room, and the front desk said there was nothing they could do as they were fully booked and to check again the next day. We explained that it wasn’t the room we booked and they tried to convince us it was, not knowing our friend booked the same room type and got the correct one. So we checked again the next day and they decided that day they weren’t allowing room switches, and were still fully booked. They said to come back later to check for cancellations.
Meanwhile, our thermostat/fan unit in the room was broken and the sink was clogged. The toilet seat was loose and there was an exposed sharp metal attachment plate for what looked like hanging soap at one point above the sink. We had two technicians come and test the AC and fix the sink. We never heard anything from the technicians after testing the airflow and it was still very hot and hard to sleep the entire weekend. The ones who cleaned the sink left a brown funky stain after they cleared it.
We went down again and complained that all of this was kind of hard to accept, getting the wrong room, and also not having proper airflow and a clogged sink when we knew we were paying the same price for a room we didn’t get. We had two mornings left and they tried to make up for this by given us a breakfast ticket each for only one of the mornings left. They ended the conversation with because we booked with hotels.com and not Scandic directly, there was nothing they could do to fix our room error.
So moral of the story, I guess Scandic gives different tiers of service depending on where you book through.
Honestly was is really sad about the whole thing is the bad state of the handicapable rooms.

We had a nice stay here. The breakfast was great and the room comfortable but very small and a bit dated. It didn’t look much like the photos. The spa and sauna were great.

There are better ones
Located 5 minutes from the centre of Gothenburg, the hotel seems to be just ok: nothing outstanding, just a place to stay when visiting the city. Varied breakfast; no air-conditioning although the Internet states the opposite

Family room is tiny and expensive
Decent breakfast buffet but premium $$ to be close to Göteborg station. Family room is tiny for 4 pax and dust flew from the bunk beds. Shower divider had no rubber strip at bottom so water leaked everywhere. No kettle or mini fridge and safe didn’t work. Hskping is good tho.
