A centrally located and slightly older hotel with friendly staff
Hotel Park Allé turned out to be just a short walk away and they also offer parking in the yard for an extra fee which can be useful to know. I was met by friendly staff and the lobby/breakfast area has a lovely charm with nice details that create a cozy feel.
I booked a single room when I was supposed to just sleep and then drive home in the morning the next day. The room is elongated and spartanly decorated yet with a little touch of interior design. No luxury but for sleeping it works well. The bathroom, on the other hand, leaves little to be desired. At first I thought the shower was stolen but I found it behind me in the hall, probably built in where there was a closet once upon a time. Not so charming but sure, functional despite the simplicity. A little spiderweb in the ceiling in the bathroom and a toilet where the water probably flowed over the years with a brown stripe is not so nice but sometimes you get what you pay for... A loose bathroom shelf made me be a little extra careful too.
The breakfast was nice and the right size and absolutely nice so the hotel does fine on the staff, location, breakfast and rooms but loses a bit on the bathrooms.
