Parking area is not paved, so there is too much dust and stone/gravel all around.

Unsafe Stay Due to Toxic Barbecue Smoke Indoors
After a long day, I returned to the hotel around 17:30. At 17:40, I noticed a barbecue smell inside my room. When I opened the window to check the source, a dense cloud of smoke immediately entered. Outside, a barbecue event was taking place on the terrace. I initially thought the window wasn't sealing 100%, causing a little bit of barbecue smoke to get inside; however, it wasn't coming from the window. After opening the room door;
the entire first‑floor corridor smelled strongly of barbecue
smoke had travelled through the stairwell into the building and into the guest rooms, the hallway smoked so extremely strong
fresh air through the window was impossible due to smoke outside and on the same time fresh air through the door was impossible due to smoke inside.
I was literally trapped in a smoke‑filled room and I had to walk through a thick harmfull smoke to exit the building. I used a jacket over my nose to leave the building unharmed; however, the BBQ smoke seeped right through my jacket. At that moment, not a single guest could walk out smoke-free.
I take this very seriously because in the hotel there were also babies, children and elderly guests who cannot handle this.
The smoke that entered the hotel contained well‑known combustion substances harmful to human health, including:
- PM2.5 microscopic particles that penetrate deep into the lungs
- PAHs released when fat burns, known for harmful properties
- VOCs gases causing acute airway irritation and headaches
- Carbon monoxide reduces oxygen absorption in the blood
These are not “normal smells” , they are substances that should never be present inside hotel rooms or corridors.
After reporting the incident, I received a response from Hotell Nordic (see screenshot) in which:
the smoke intrusion was described merely as “discomfort from the smell of smoke”
no explanation was given as to why babies, children, elderly guests, and staff had to inhale this smoke,
no explanation was provided for why hotel doors were left open during the barbecue, allowing smoke to enter the building
no preventive measures were communicated,
no responsibility was taken for the smoke entering guest rooms
the hotel stated it would not offer compensation, despite providing no explanation of how this happened or how it will be prevented immediately
In the email, you can clearly read that Hotel Nordic does not care at all about the health of guests, even after I clearly showed them which carcinogenic substances could be smelled throughout the entire hotel.
The hotel responded defensively, provided no solution, and gave no explanation on how Hotell Nordic will prevent this immediately for the guests who are staying there right now. It clearly appears they do not care about guests’ health.
Structural safety risk
The fact that toxic barbecue smoke was detectable inside guest rooms means this case is no longer about a single guest complaint, it is a structural safety risk within the hotel.
Therefore, I am compelled to submit this case immediately to the relevant health and environmental authorities. If I see a company that doesn't think about the health of its guests for a single moment, you've really come to the wrong person. I do not accept that.
Avoid this hotel if your health is important to you. The hotel uses a BBQ almost every evening; this harmful air is spread throughout the entire hotel, and you are forced to breathe in harmful air in this hotel. The fact that Hotel Nordic leaves the front door fully open shows that not a single safety regulation is being followed.
So Hotell Nordic, I give you one single opportunity to publicly explain how this could happen and why guests were forced to inhale harmful smoke. If you do not respond to this review, that already says enough.

Ok... no more
The bathroom was very cold. The faucet in the shower did not work so it was very hot water. Towels were missing.
In the room there was a sofa that was sat down. Next to the main pillow on the bed was a large stain that was half wiped away.
On the couch out in the corridor lay glasses forgotten.
The bed was very lake and the breakfast was quite ok. A little narrow range. Available gluten-free and dairy-free.
