Good hotel, clean and simple, easy to drive to. Not far from city center and the excellent Zentrum Paul Klee

Not recommended for the summer due to poor cooling.

In general, it is a clean hotel, with spacious rooms and a comfortable bed. Good breakfast and friendly staff. The air conditioning, which they curiously boast about, is very poor. In the two days we stayed there, we only managed to lower the room temperature by opening the windows… if you decide to book in August despite everything, mosquito repellent will be essential, and you should hope for rain.

Terrible experience/ careless staff

When we were looking for an hotel, we specifically booked one that stated to have air conditioner in the room we booked. When we got our rooms, we find out that we had no air conditioner. Just pointing out, it's mid July during a heatwave in Europe. We were exhausted from our day and wanted some cool air. the screen of the air conditioner didn't even turned on nor reacted to touch. We approached the staff at the lobby and he told us that once the room reaches 24 degrees the AC turnes it self off. We found it odd . Temperature in the room rise up to 29’c He told us to try again. We tried and again it didn't work so we approached the staff again later. worker gave us a new explanation for the AC problem. He told us about a "policy" of Bern's city council that determines that the hotel can only provide AC to a certain part of the rooms. After researching online we found no such policy nor any other policy in Bern regarding such method. We felt lied to, and dismissed by the staff. It felt like the workers just didn't want to bother fixing the problem or switching us rooms.
I have requested to switch us the room but unfortunately the answer from staff ( nothing that we can do for you) We were so tired and hot that we didn't have the power to insist on that subject, therefore we went to sleep in a hot smothered room, sweating and feeling ill all night.
I have got dizzy/ short of breath my skin gone pale and I have got asthma with this room condition of the room that we got it doesn’t help me at all. So I have to contact my insurance to inform this matter very seriously. I have tried to request change the room but as I have provided information above “ the staff is useless and careless about the customer health condition specifically Asthma that can risk to my life.

Not my best Radisson experience

Uneven treatment by staff: some very friendly and helpful, other arrogant and unwilling to clarify doubts. Rooms are not made, even at the minimum level declared (full waste basket was not removed by staff), neither some used dirty towel.

Dirty smelly corridor, basic breakfast with low quality meat and cheese, one person at the desk, slow service, bar is manned by the person on the desk I waited 20 mins for a coke which cost 6chf, they don’t clean the room, they empty the bin that’s it. No fridge, no water, no iron, can cast to the tv with iPhone it’s only android. One pillow instead of two which is far too high. Aircon off in 36 degree heat the room was 24 far too high hot to sleep abd could/would not turn it on. Window didn’t open. Thankfully was only there two nights and out early and back late. Get what you pay for does what it says on the tin. It’s a basic bed for the night.
