Tranquil and authentic
Great building and attentive staff. Sufficiently near to and far way enough away from town with the Coop supermarket offering high quality and reasonable priced food and household items.
Good selection of breakfast options. Token payment for Washing and drying machines for guest usage within one of the shared bathrooms, although washing and drying cycles seem to take longer than we are used to in the UK. The train station is less than a 10 minute walk away. Providing fast and efficient trains to almost everywhere you might want to go to. Consider the option of purchasing a Swiss Rail pass which enables more efficient ticketing logistics. But you will need to cost it out by planning what trips you plan to and balancing it against the price of either a 50% off or full payment in advance , as they are not cheap
Minor negative issues being the lack of “softly,softly” feet movement by guests who need to appreciate that others guests can be sensitive to stomping in heavy hiking footwear in the rooms adjacent to, or on floors beneath them. (Not sure what if anything, hoteliers can do about this). The pillows leave a lot to be desired in that they are soft and lack structure or support. But apparently this is the norm in German and Swiss establishments.
A swim in the lake is more appealing than it may appear given it is feed by glacial water. But it was no colder than swimming in British waters.
Switzerland is expensive by comparison with the UK by a factor of x3 or x4, but everything’s was so clean, tidy, and efficient. The train tracks and carriages all looked like they were brand new, in stark contrast to what we see in the UK.

Ein schöner alter Spycher
Es hat uns sehr gut gefallen, leider mussten wir uns aufteilen da wir als 4.köpfige Familie im Spycher keinen Platz hatten.
Das sogenannte selbst Check/in ging zu meinem Erstaunen recht einfach.
Das Frühstück war klein und gemütlich, es hatte alles was gebraucht wurde. Die Mitarbeiterin war sehr freundlich zu uns.
Besonders für unsere Chinesischen Gäste war es ein unvergessliches Erlebnis in einem Chalet oder eben gesagt in einem Spycher zu schlafen.
Holz hat eben schon was gemütliches an sich! ,, Wir kommen gerne wieder einmal, dann aber vermutlich (nur zu zweit)
Negativer Punkt:
Was natürlich in einem älteren Holzhaus ganz normal ist, ist das Knarren der Holzböden, was im grossen und ganzen nicht tragisch ist, dennoch beim Einschlafen störend sein kann.
