A wonderful, cosy hotel in the middle of the magnificent Lötschental

The hotel is located in Kippel, very centrally in the Lötschental, easily accessible by post bus. Also parking lots plentiful. But that may not be so important. Much more important: the warm, gracious welcome of Herbert and his team, in his authentic, cosy hotel with equally cosy rooms. The kitchen is unfortunately closed, but you can look forward to the delicious breakfast. Wonderful terrace under gnarled fruit trees.

Short stay

Very friendly hosts - accommodating and you just feel comfortable.
Rooms cozy rustic with great guest rooms to read, books available, even children can play..

Disappointing

A disappointing stay... The property is old and feels very dated. It is cluttered (our view) with baby strollers, spinning wheels and an old exercise bike on stair landings. We found the food very expensive (even by Swiss standards) and the menu card a bit bizarre in that it was all about meat with few other options. We appreciated the close and no cost parking. We loved the area for skiing and will be back, but we will be staying somewhere else.

Homely comfort

Spent one night here. Lovely solid wooden house with lively restaurant serving local (and organic) food. Room was small but had everything and felt very cosy. Breakfast was generous and delicious. Kippel is a charming little place to wander through and we had a great walk from the end of the valley up to the glacier. A hidden-away treat.

Great place

We're here for two nights with Swiss friends - lovely place with very friendly owners. Local bus from nearby station stops outside the door so very convenient. Train ride away from several walking areas. Highly recommended but bookings required.
