A room with an unforgettable view
Fantastic location in Park Ela. The staff is extremely polite and generous. The view from the room window is incredible. The breakfast was super rich and generous, although one could say for more stuff but for me, it was perfect. Last but not the least, the Savognin generosity is appreciable since the hotel provided us with Park Ela cards which provided a free ride on the cable car. Highly recommended. Only on the downside, not much of eating places in the city but it is not that of a problem.

Terrible service, rather basic rooms and breakfast, no sense of sustainability
We were promised very fast internet in the room prior to the booking. On arrival, it turned out that Wifi was very bad (bandwidth less than 1% of what was promised). Neither the staff onsite, nor the owner and manager had any interest in resolving this problem. Both reacted in a very defensive and unhelpful manner, bordering on rudeness, thus creating a lot of unnecessary stress for us (and I would not be surprised if they react in the same manner to this review here).
Besides, the rooms are rather worn down and not so well kept. The beds were too soft and uncomfortable. The breakfast was ok, but nothing special. Apart from that, an immense of rubbish was created unnecessarily every day due to items individually wrapped in plastic. In this day and age of sustainability, this (and the table wastebins) should be a thing of the past.
Overall, this hotel is highly overpriced for what is being offered. The only good thing is the convenient location, which can easily be reached by public transport and situated close to the skilift station.

Best place for having lunch with family
Lunch with an awesome view of green mountains and small village. It is located on the main road direction St. Moritz. Driving from Zurich to St. Moritz it takes 3 hours, so we decided to stop for food, it was not our first time to stop in this place, but each time we love the place more and more :),
I couldn’t believe that they still remember us from last visit which was almost 2 years ago! The service is really nice and they are all here so friendly. Very good food and affordable prices.

Comfy, clean hotel with the best view in Savognin
I spent one night in Danilo hotel as part of a Switzerland weekend and had a very nice stay, mainly through relaxing on the balcony with an amazing view. It's great to have a partitioned, private balcony so you can sit outside and look over the old part of Savognin and the valley. It's beautiful at all times of day, but particularly as the light changes in the evening.
The room was spacious and very clean, with a good sized, well equipped bathroom. Comfy bed but I wasn't crazy about the pillows as they were huge but much too soft so didn't give your neck any support at all. And maybe thicker curtains would be nice because once it was daylight outside it was also daylight in the room, which is not great when this is around 5.30am! If you're a light sleeper (pardon the pun) you might need a sleep mask.
The staff were really polite and friendly, most of them speak German but at reception you'll always find an English speaker and in the restaurant too. I didn't have dinner or breakfast during my stay so I can't comment on the food but the restaurant itself is spacious and welcoming and there's a nice terrace bar so you can eat outside in the summer, and enjoy that view!
In terms of access, there's a lift to all floors but it's very small and you have to go through the restaurant from reception to reach it. Something to bear in mind if you have mobility issues.
There's a decent sized car park at the back and there's also a hotel entrance at the back, at least in theory, because once inside it's difficult to work out where to go. I followed the sign to reception which pointed up a spiral staircase but ended up at a locked door so had to go round to the main entrance at the front anyway. And if you've got cases the front entrance is the best bet, to avoid the stairs.
If you like walking Savognin is a really good spot, as you can have a gentle amble round town, but be prepared for a bit of a climb back up to the hotel. Or if you're made of sterner stuff, there is some great trekking to be done in the surrounding hills. And the hotel issues you a free pass for the cable car if you want to get up higher in the mountains.
The hotel is a comfy base for a walking holiday, with a great balcony and view to help you relax at the end of the day.
