Gorgeous view

Fabulous location! The view is incredible. Nice rooms with view and balcony. Restaurant serving food is made to perfection. A little uphill walk from the train station but the owner was kind enough to pick and drop us as my parents are aged. Would definitely come back

A wonderful hotel in a wonderful location with a stunning view.

I had a single room for two weeks with a two day business trip in the middle of my stay. The room was very comfortable, and the bed first rate. I have an arthritic back but I slept comfortably each night. The food was excellent. Martina, the owner/manager is very professional, and a pleasure to speak with. I will certainly be staying there again.

An unforgettable place to stay!

Our home base during the Lauterbrunnen portion of our honeymoon; Hotel Berghaus was a marvelous and magical place to stay. Nestled in amongst some of the most stellar scenery in the world, Berghaus offers a wonderful combination of comfort and coziness. You'll find more charm here than you would at one of the larger resort hotels. When we'd return at the end of the day from adventuring in the valley, we'd find brand new chalk drawings by the hotel manager's young children. The place feels like a home and hotel all at once. Its an easy walk down the hill to the train station in Wengen to get you anywhere you wanna go, or you can hang out and watch the gondola go up to Männlichen while enjoying an excellent dinner. You can't go wrong!

Not recommended, in need of renovation and not nice (unclean, old, spoiled)!

Dear Mrs Fontana
After you gave us a little bit about what happened behind the hotel scenes and to some guests for the best, here is the view from the other side, namely from very disappointed guests! Very negative were the bathroom with bathtub and shower curtain -disgusting- , the dirty sinks and the toilet - also disgusting-. We cleaned up the worst dirt ourselves. We should have been clairvoyant about the low price, so our own fault.
Unfortunately, we did not pay enough attention to the reference to the bathtub in the bathroom. There are hotel bathrooms with bathtubs where you can also shower. However, showering with your bathtub is very dangerous because the bathtub is much too narrow and you cannot stand safely! The water saving measures on the fittings were anything but pleasant. All very unpleasant! The heavy duvets on the bed weren't exactly comfortable for summer time either. None of your dinners tasted particularly good in any way. The fact that we shouldn't use the elevator after 9 p.m. one evening because of a pensive female guest was very strange.
On the positive side, we would like to highlight: The breakfast (but the egg cooker carries a high risk of injury -burns of the hands-), the view, a few tips from you and that we were driven to the train station for departure by car.
I would have liked to move to another hotel immediately, but out of consideration
my wife forgoes this escapade. All in all: Very disappointing!!!

Enchanting stay in Wengen!

We had a wonderful stay at Hotel Berghaus! The location is perfect- close to all the restaurants, gondola, and train, as well as to the hiking paths and Alpine cowbells. Martina is the BEST host- so thoughtful and kind. This place felt like home. Beautiful views of the mountains, and a delicious breakfast. We will return!
