The best breakfast and the best service of our entire Swiss trip

We stayed four nights in July, in the middle of a seventeen-night tour of Switzerland taking in six hotels. Mont Cervin Palace is the one we would return to.
It started before we even arrived. Zermatt is car-free, so you leave your car at the parking in Täsch — and the hotel arranged our transfer from there right to the door, which removed the one genuinely awkward part of getting to Zermatt. We were welcomed with complimentary champagne, Swiss sweets and fruits. Throughout the stay, the hotel bus took us free of charge anywhere we wanted to go in the village. None of this had to be asked for.
The breakfast is the best we had anywhere on the trip, and it was not close. The eggs Benedict and the avocado toast were both perfect — the kind of thing you order again the next morning because you cannot get enough of it. There are detox juices, and the croissants are the best I have ever eaten, anywhere. What lifted it further was the lady who greets guests at the entrance to breakfast: unfailingly kind, and she would come over as service was drawing to a close to let us know, so we still had time to order or take whatever we wanted. That is attentiveness that gives you more options rather than fewer, and it is rarer than it should be.
Service was the other standout, and again the best of the trip. Both restaurants — the Cervin Grill and Joseph's — were excellent, with service to match.
As a base for Zermatt it works exactly as it should. Gornergrat and the Matterhorn Glacier Paradise are both straightforward from here, and after a long day on the mountain the hotel is a genuinely comfortable place to come back to.
If you are choosing between the grand hotels of Zermatt, this is the one. Highly recommended.

Beautiful family weekend

We spent a great family weekend at Mont Cervin, the room was very nice, we found great attentions for our son's birthday. Especially the SPA we enjoyed very much, the back massage of our daughter was great. The staff was very nice and friendly; the only downer: almost none of the staff spoke German. We are aware that the hotel is geared towards international guests, but a few words of German would still be a must for a hotel in German-speaking Switzerland, in our opinion.

Incredible stay in Zermatt

If you're visiting Zermatt and wondering where to stay, stop looking and book Mont Cervin Palace.
We've stayed at many luxury hotels around the world, and after a 17-day trip through Italy and Switzerland, Mont Cervin Palace was, without question, the highlight of our journey.
The experience began before we even reached the hotel, with a seamless welcome at the train station. From there, everything just kept getting better. We were fortunate to be upgraded to a stunning corner suite with two balconies and incredible, unobstructed views of the Matterhorn—a room we'll never forget.
The hospitality is what truly sets this hotel apart. We were welcomed with champagne, fresh fruit, and beautiful sweet treats, and those thoughtful surprises continued throughout our stay. As we were celebrating our wedding anniversary, the team went above and beyond to make it feel genuinely special. Every interaction felt warm, sincere, and effortless.
Luxury hotels often have beautiful buildings, but very few create an experience that stays with you long after you've left. Mont Cervin Palace does exactly that. The attention to detail, the genuine care from every member of the team, and the unforgettable setting combine to create something truly exceptional.
This wasn't just our favorite hotel in Zermatt—it was our favorite stay of our entire Europe trip. An easy 11/10. We can't recommend it highly enough, and we'll absolutely be back.

We are enjoying our 4-day stay in the Valais mountains, friendly, courteous, helpful staff, clean rooms, spacious pool, first-class restaurants.
