We had a wonderful three-night stay at Makka Hotel. The location is excellent, and the staff were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and always ready to help. Their outstanding hospitality made our stay very enjoyable. The room and bathroom were clean and comfortable, although they would benefit from a modern upgrade. Overall, we had a great experience and would happily recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Chiang Mai.

A peaceful boutique stay in Chiang Mai Old City

Makka Hotel is a quiet boutique hotel located in Chiang Mai Old City, and it feels very different from a large resort or a busy city hotel. The atmosphere is calm, intimate, and full of small design details.
What I enjoyed most was the public area. The dark wooden structure, white arches, black tiled floors, tropical plants, warm lighting, and artwork all create a peaceful and tasteful environment. It is not flashy, but it has a very clear sense of character.
The location is also a strong point. It is convenient for exploring the old city, visiting temples, walking to cafes, and enjoying a slower side of Chiang Mai. After spending the day outside, coming back to the hotel felt like returning to a quiet corner away from the heat and noise.
The rooms and facilities are clean and comfortable, but this is not a resort-style hotel with large facilities or a big pool. I think it is best for travelers who value atmosphere, location, and design over full resort amenities.
Overall, Makka Hotel is a lovely choice for a short stay in Chiang Mai, especially for solo travelers or couples who want somewhere peaceful, stylish, and easy to explore from.

Boutique hotel in Chiang Mai

Located in the eastern part of Chiang Mai city centre, Makka Hotel is characterized by its striking architecture resembling a temple in black and white colors. We booked the hotel for two nights.
Already at check-in we gained a very positive impression of the courtesy of the staff. After our suitcases were removed, we were asked to take off our shoes on the way to the room. This simply serves to protect the precious wooden floor.
The room was large, spacious and comfortable. There is not much to admire in the hotel itself, as it is a small boutique hotel. Breakfast I had also not booked and therefore cannot rate it. Overall it was definitely enough for the two nights. The location was central but quiet, the staff very friendly, overall a recommendation.

The hotel is absolutely beautiful. Staff super friendly particularly the people at breakfast (that is very nice as well) location perfect to move around in the middle of the old town. Would recommend and go back!
