Beautiful place to stay
Best beach-side bungalow of our 5 week trip along with lovely staff, a peaceful location and top quality restaurant. The Breton influence was clearly evident in the decor and cuisine! Highly recommended

A haven of peace
A beautiful piece of paradise lost on the edge of Thailand, on the island of Koh Jum. Those seeking calm and tranquility will be served. The sea is at the foot of the bungalows. The service is impeccable and with little care for an unforgettable stay. The day of departure was difficult, but I will come back to it with haste. Thanks to Valerie, Oon, Joey and Alec for your welcome

Magic
This 5 night stay at Oon Lee Bungalows was a real delight. The hotel, run by Valerie and her family, is like a small box set in the middle of the jungle with access to a beautiful beach.
On the beach the bar where I drank the best may tai in front of a sunset over Ko Phi Phi. And the restaurant that serves absolutely delicious dishes for really very reasonable prices.
It's a place that only makes you want to come back very quickly.

The perfect tropical hideaway
Stayed here for about 10 days. It is a perfect place to relax and drift away. Far away from traffic and noise set up in the jungle with a marvelous view over the sea.
The bungalows are simple but tastefully designed, clean and there is everything you need!
The bar on the beach is led by the owner’s sons and I cannot imagine a better spot for a perfectly mixed sundowner. Or more.
Owners and staff are very helpful and friendly and take care of everything very well.
The food in the restaurant is amazing and for Thailand they offer a very nice wine menu!
We will definitely come back!

A magical stay
The stay at the Oon Lee Bungalow resort was magical for us. We are so grateful for the familiar and friendly welcome by Valerie, Oon, Joey and Alec, and we hope to be returning someday to this magical place!
We stayed for two nights. Valerie helped us organize our travel to Koh Jum, as it's quite a secluded island, especially during the rain season. We came to the island with a speed boat from Koh Phi Phi; the most convenient, but also expensive, option. Valerie and her family are French-Thai, speak very good English and know the area and Thailand in general very well, as they're truly natives. They will gladly help you and share their knowledge and advice!
As we arrived, we were picked up and welcomed by Joey, son of Oon and Valerie and our unofficial island guide. We're very glad that he showed us the island so thoroughly, as he truly cared about us as friends and guests, and it's very clear how much he and his family love this island.
Driven by a 4x4 pickup truck, we arrived at the hotel, which is truly a gem in the middle of the jungle. The bungalows were very clean, with as many amenities as one could hope for in the middle of the jungle - clean sheets and pillows, beautifully decorated rooms, ventilators and warm showers (no A/C, but the cold breeze at night and the fans are more than enough!)
One of the main attractions of the resort is the absolutely stellar cuisine. Advised by Valerie, we ate the very best Thai food we had so far in the entire country: Pad Thai, curries, stir fried, soups... And of course a selection of French food, such as flambéed Crepes. Absolutely incredible food - Even if you're not staying at the resort, we highly recommend eating there!
Of course, not to be forgotten are Joey's delicious cocktails - highly recommend his Mai Thai!
We liked the food so much we even took a cooking course from the original cook Tiew, who is now teaching Thai cooking full-time. We also recommend anyone to take that course and learn how to make traditional and tasty Thai dishes.
The island itself is magical - almost untouched, with very, very few tourists. Very quiet, calm and authentic - we spent our days cycling and swimming at empty beaches, enjoying local food and playing football with the locals. Just don't forget to bring abundant mosquito spray!
We would again like to thank the entire family for a lovely stay and would warmly recommend anyone to visit Koh Jum and the Oon Lee Bungalow resort - we will hopefully be back someday soon.
