Exhausting climb to rooms with phenomenal views
Two things:
1. DO NOT UNDERESTIMATE how brutal the steps are, we were in rooms on the 6th floor which is literally just under Viewpoint 1! On the third walk up in a day you start questioning your life choices!
2. The view from our room was easily the best either of us has ever had from a hotel. Basically viewpoint 1 with your own balcony and views over Koh Phi Phi Don and across to Koh Phi Phi Lee (Maya bay etc) to watch the sun set and watch the light hit the islands at dawn. Magical!!
The quality of the rooms was of an okay standard and on a par with others we've stayed in across Thailand, air-conditioning, comfortable bed (firm but really comfortable), OK shower, fridge, BUT the view!!

Beautiful views, but bad room and service
Arriving at the port:
- I was advised a member of staff would meet me at the ferry port to assist with my luggage. Nobody was there, so I had to find the hotel myself & carry my bags up 120 steps to the hotel
- Not the best start to my holiday!
- Rating: 1/5
Check-in:
- No apology for nobody being at the port to meet me
- The guy wasn’t friendly, but check-in was fast
- No information was shared about the room or resort
- Rating: 1/5
The Room: Superior Double with Seaview
- When I arrived at the room, I noticed the bathroom floor was covered in ants. I notified reception, & they fixed it, which was greatly appreciated
- The room was very basic, but spacious
- The TV was old & didn’t work
- The main issue is the hard mattress/pillows & lack of sound proofing. Every night until 03:30 you can hear loud music from the bars. When I finally got to sleep, I was woken up at 05:25, by the call to prayer
- One morning, I got a visit from a troop of monkey’s. Luckily, I managed to get my valuables inside, one of which was my mobile phone, before they run off with my cocktail bucket from the previous night. It would be good if the hotel warned you about the monkey’s during check-in
- When having a shower the water temperature was intermittent & the pressure was bad. There was also mold on the tiles & the shower was rusty
- There’s no shower curtain, so if like me, you’re not a fan of wet rooms, this isn’t the place for you
- There’s curtains, but no blackout blinds
- The bed linen was okay, but the mattress and pillows were too hard for me
- The towels were really bad, not only were they old & tatty, they smelt damp
- The lighting in the room was okay.
- There’s a mini fridge, safe, kettle, but no hairdryer or full length mirror
- The furniture inside the room is very cheap and old
- Complimentary Water: No, you need to request
- Complimentary Coffee: No, you need to request
- Complimentary Tea: No, you need to request
- Toilet paper: No, you need to request
- Daily Cleaning: No, you need to request
- When you’re asked not to throw any paper, sanitary pads, etc. in the toilet, you would hope the bins would be emptied daily. Unfortunately, they weren’t
- There’s one wardrobe to hang & store your items
- To keep you cool they have air conditioning, but it’s loud & not very effective
- You get a nice terrace area where you can enjoy the view and surrounding nature. Monkey’s Cats, & numerous birds, including Kites
- I noticed some rooms had cushions on the terrace seats, but mine didn’t
- The WIFI was okay, but kept dropping.
- The room wasn’t clean
- There’s nowhere to hang wet towels or clothes & I wasn’t going to hang them on the balcony like some guests, in case the monkey’s decided they wanted them
- Rating: 2/5
Arboreal Restaurant:
- On my first morning, I decided to try the hotel restaurant for breakfast, but never returned.
- Arrival: No greeting, totally ignored me.
- General service: The two ladies were more interested in speaking to each other & picking their spots, than serving guests. When they took my order & delivered my breakfast they were miserable & clearly didn’t want to be there.
- Departure: No thank you, have a lovely day, nothing
- Food quality: Very Bad. The eggs were killed, I mean, how difficult is it to cook an egg. The bread wasn’t toasted, the ham & watermelon were bad quality
- The only positive is the beautiful view
- American Breakfast: 200 THB
- Rating: 1/5
Check-out:
- Quick, but again, no assistance with my luggage.
- Thanks to gravity, it was easier going down than it was going up
- Rating: 1/5
Overall Rating: 2/5
- My above ratings take into consideration what I paid per night, which was $95.
- Based on 3 weeks of traveling, this was the most expensive hotel I stayed at, but definitely the worst value for money

The only really great thing about this hotel is the view from the room. There is a lot of stair to get there (you are 3/4 of the way to the viewpoint so it's a bonus) so bear that in mind. Room was average. The catch is that you have to request the room to be cleaned, otherwise no fresh towels. No trash pickup and no toilet paper.... There is also a lot of ants, especially in the bathroom...

This place is UNDER RATED! We had probably one of the best views on the island, our hotel was at the top and it was stunning. Our room was really spacious with a huge bed and balcony, nice large bathroom and super clean. The only reason this place isnt getting better reviews is because of the hike up the hill. However the hotel will carry your luggage up and down for you, just be prepared if you stay to do a lot of stair climbing, it was fine for us because we left for the day and only came back to go to bed so only had to deal with the stair climb up once a day.

Do not recommend!
Negative points:
- Initially at the booking did not show the staircase to get to the hotel reception. From the beginning of the ladder to my room there were 150 steps, all irregular.
- The hotel's cleaning was not good and a lot of garbage in the surroundings.
- The service leaves to be desired, attendees unprepared for a high average cost hotel.
- Breakfast with 5 closed options and the service at the restaurant also bad.
- Baggage transfer service from the hotel to the pier at the exit had to be paid since it was not in the hotel time. I paid for the hotel's own charger. You carry your bags in the cart.
- There's no laundry service. I had to take in a laundry room in the middle of the hotel stairs. I don't know if it's a Phi Phi practice. But the hotel could very well provide this service.
