Loved this hotel. Although we did prefer Bangtao instead. Area was okay, close to Phuket central. Good for a couple of nights to chill

Absolute Nightmare Experience – Save Your Money and Go Elsewhere!

I don’t even know where to begin with Homa Phuket Town, but staying here felt less like a hotel stay and more like an interactive survival course where you’re constantly penalized for basic human needs. Let's start with the room itself: yes, it’s big, exceptionally clean, and spacious, but that is the ONLY compliment this place will ever get from me because everything else is a complete disaster. The moment I walked in, I noticed the utensils in the kitchen were practically dirty, forcing me to rewash them myself, only to realize there was NO sponge provided anywhere to clean them with! To make matters worse, there were no tissues in the room (only in the bathroom), no complimentary slippers, no scale, and NO ROBES. Not having robes is an actual privacy hazard because the housekeepers will knock twice and instantly walk right into your room, completely invading your space while you're standing there shivering in a tiny towel.
Then comes the water situation, which is utterly absurd. They give you two glass bottles and expect you to trek down the hallway to a water dispenser like a medieval villager. Between drinking tea and cooking, two bottles run out instantly, meaning at 2:00 AM you're forced to wander down the corridors looking like a crazy maniac just to get a sip of water. God forbid you want room service to just bring you some, because there is no room service! In fact, there isn't even a telephone in the room to call reception. They give you a WhatsApp QR code to scan, but they take forever to respond when you need something urgently. If you need extra tea, coffee, or sugar, which they give in insultingly small amounts, you better catch housekeeping before they vanish at 5:00 PM. If you come back from an island tour at 7:00 PM, you’re completely stranded unless you hike all the way down to reception yourself.
The amenities and room vibe are equally terrible. The room is huge, but the lighting is so dim and weak that the whole space feels enclosed, dark, and closeted. They have Samsung TVs mounted on the wall, yet somehow stripped them of basic smart apps so you can’t even use YouTube, Spotify, or Apple Music. On top of that, the soundproofing is practically nonexistent. I was in the bathroom and heard knocking so loud and clear I thought someone was breaking down my front door, only to realize it was the door next door! The window seals leak so much sound that you hear every bit of ongoing construction noise right in your ear. Eating here is another nightmare if you need Halal options; their single on-site restaurant serves a heavy amount of pork, ham, and bacon, and I couldn't even trust the seafood or pasta dishes because there's no way of knowing if they secretly cooked them with white wine or alcohol.
To top off this circus of inconveniences, the location is stuck right in the middle/old town area far away from everything, taking a full hour just to reach the airport, so if you don't wake up at the crack of dawn for a morning flight, you will miss it. But the absolute final straw was yesterday when I lost a key card. Instead of handing me a simple replacement like every normal hotel on earth, they demanded 500 Baht for a cheap piece of plastic! It's not that deep, people lose key cards all the time, but charging guests 500 Baht for an honest mistake is absolute extortion and nickel-and-diming at its finest. Do yourself a favor, save your money, and stay somewhere that actually treats its guests with basic convenience!

Dear Guest,
Thank you for taking the time to share such detailed feedback. We are sorry to hear that your experience did not meet your expectations.
We appreciate your positive comments regarding the size, cleanliness, and spaciousness of the room. Regarding the missing kitchen sponge, we sincerely apologize as this was an oversight in the room setup and is not our usual standard.
We would also like to clarify that our team remains available through WhatsApp for guest assistance, and we provided the requested items, including an iron, toothbrush, shaving kit, and hairdryer replacement during your stay. We also offered alternative housekeeping arrangements when our team was attending to scheduled room cleaning.
Regarding the key card replacement fee, this is a standard charge applied in cases of lost key cards. We understand that this may have been frustrating, but the charge is applied consistently according to our hotel policy.
We also take your comments regarding lighting, sound insulation, room amenities, and our restaurant options seriously and will share your feedback with the relevant teams for consideration.
We regret that your overall experience did not meet your expectations, and we appreciate your feedback as it helps us identify areas where we can improve.
Best regards,
HOMA Phuket Town Team

Pleasant 5 star experience

Had the best stay here with my partner. All their facilities were clean and modern. I didn’t feel ill, the AC system was sound, water seemed filtered compared to other hotels. Plus happy there was a clean drinking water dispenser for free. Only downside is location/ no shuttle bus service. But still give it 9.5/10, my expectations were exceeded. Safe was a little dodgy, nothing went missing but found out safe was open.
