Hotel Ferah - Near Istanbul Park
track and food hall. We did not find this till almost our last day !!!! as thus is the Asian side of Istanbul nobody speaks English, there is no alcohol (apart from the hypermarket - although thd hotel
bar sells beer and only beer ) and
you really really must cover up..
Ladies you will get stared at, there is no tourists in this area.
As for the hotel, it is very basic, but you get what you pay for. Rooms are fairly clean comfortable, tv is cable and the wifi works . Breakfast is ok, eggs, bread, tomatoes, cheese, olives, tea & coffee. Basic but ok. Staff are friendly but speak hardly any English, communication quite difficult but we got there!!! Hotel transfer to Istanbul Park. Cost us €50 euro each ( fir Fri, Sat & Sun) there was 6 in our party plus 5 other Englidh staying there. In the bus we were also joined by 5 others!!!
Getting to Grand Prix track - took about 35 minutes, traffic was fine as the locals know the back roads and avoided to the highway.
Getting from Istanbul Park to Istanbul. There is a blue bus that goes from the track straight to The Blue Mosque. took about 90 mins and cost about £6.
Getting to istanbul - taxi from hotel to Gebze train station. You can get a train from Gebze station straight to Hyda Pasha and ferry across to Istanbul centre. Train & ferry were £1 each. Ferry took 15 mins, train was 1
hour. Istanbul port is a 15 min walk from The Blue Mosque.
