⭐ Safe, Peaceful and Simply Perfect – Skykhan Hotel Exceeded Every Expectation
As a solo female traveller, finding accommodation that is safe, comfortable and welcoming is my number one priority, and Skykhan Hotel in Çalış exceeded every expectation.
I arrived at around 5:00 a.m. after a long journey with virtually no sleep. Before travelling, I had pre-booked my airport transfer through Booking.com, and I couldn’t have asked for a better start to my holiday. My driver was punctual, friendly and professional, and I felt completely safe throughout the journey from the airport to the hotel.
Unfortunately, check-in wasn’t until 2:00 p.m., and after travelling through the night, I simply couldn’t stay awake any longer. I was greeted by a lovely young man at reception who, despite English not being his first language, did everything he could to help me. We understood each other perfectly, and I decided to pay for an additional night so I could check into another room immediately and get some much-needed sleep. His kindness and willingness to help made a wonderful first impression.
The following day, I met a lovely young lady who I believe manages the hotel. We had already communicated via WhatsApp before my arrival, and it was a pleasure finally meeting her. Her English was excellent, she was incredibly welcoming, and she genuinely cared about making sure guests had everything they needed throughout their stay.
From that moment on, Skykhan Hotel completely blew me away.
The atmosphere is exactly what I had been searching for. There is no loud music blaring throughout the day, no drunken behaviour, no rowdy crowds and no unnecessary noise. Instead, there is a peaceful, relaxing environment where guests simply enjoy their holiday while respecting one another’s privacy. It was the perfect escape.
The hotel itself is immaculately clean. Every area is exceptionally well maintained, and my room was spotless, comfortable and equipped with everything I needed. I especially loved the little terrace, which became my favourite place to unwind in the evenings after a day of exploring.
Travelling alone sometimes makes dining out feel a little daunting, but that wasn’t a problem here. There are plenty of takeaway options available, and many of the wonderful restaurants along the beautiful Çalış seafront are happy to prepare food for collection. It meant I could enjoy delicious meals back at the hotel whenever I wanted.
One thing that deserves special recognition is the hotel’s commitment to guest safety. As a solo female traveller, this meant the world to me. No strangers are allowed to wander around the hotel, and anyone wishing to visit a guest must first report to reception and provide identification. This level of security immediately made me feel safe, respected and able to relax completely throughout my stay.
The location was also exactly right for me. Çalış isn’t as lively or as busy as Hisarönü or Ölüdeniz, but that’s precisely why I chose it. Having previously stayed in Kayaköy several years ago, I knew Çalış would suit my style of holiday perfectly. The promenade is beautiful, the atmosphere is relaxed, and everything you need is within easy walking distance.
And then there’s the breakfast…
Absolutely delicious.
Every morning there was an excellent selection of fresh food, beautifully presented with plenty of variety to choose from. It was the perfect way to begin each day and another example of the care and attention the hotel puts into looking after its guests.
What impressed me most about Skykhan Hotel wasn’t just the cleanliness, the comfortable rooms or the excellent breakfast. It was the genuine warmth of the staff and the peaceful atmosphere they have created. From the moment I arrived until the day I left, I felt welcomed, valued and, most importantly, completely safe.
If you’re looking for a hotel in Çalış that offers outstanding hospitality, exceptional cleanliness, a relaxing environment and excellent security—particularly if you’re travelling alone—I honestly cannot recommend Skykhan Hotel highly enough.
Without hesitation, I would stay here again, and it will be my first choice whenever I return to Çalış.

Bad
I chose this hotel based on positive reviews. Frankly, I didn't have very high expectations when I arrived. However, what I experienced was truly disappointing.
I booked for four nights, but I ended up staying in three different rooms during those four nights.
I immediately refused the first room they gave me. It smelled strongly of cigarette smoke, which I absolutely hate. Also, when you opened the balcony door, instead of a view, you saw the back of the solar panels. There was also a musty smell in the room. I packed my bags again and went to reception to explain the situation.
They gave me another room on the second floor. However, I had to wait because the room hadn't been cleaned yet. Just then, reception received a call from another customer who wanted to make a reservation. The receptionist completed the reservation over the phone. After the phone call, they called me back and said that the room they gave me was actually an "upgrade room" and that it wasn't included in my reservation. Therefore, I would have to move out of this room on the third day. Interestingly, when they gave me the room, they didn't mention that it was a temporary upgrade. I only received this information after the phone call. I reluctantly accepted this, not wanting to spoil my vacation.
On the third day, I changed rooms again and moved to another room on the first floor. Frankly, this room was much larger and more convenient than the so-called upgrade. Having stayed in three different rooms, I believe I can give an objective assessment of the hotel rooms.
The most important positive thing I can say is that the rooms were clean and the cleaning service was excellent. Breakfast was also adequate.
However, there were many shortcomings. The shower shelf was loose in all three rooms I stayed in. The balcony doors didn't close completely, allowing outside noise to enter directly into the room. This, combined with the karaoke bar directly opposite the hotel, caused significant noise until late at night. I saw that this issue was frequently mentioned in other guests' reviews.
The rooms are quite small. It's almost impossible to move around comfortably in the room with a large suitcase. Also, the room doors slam shut incredibly hard. Doors can make noise in any hotel, but here the noise is excessively loud. You can easily hear it even when a guest leaves their room on the second or third floor.
Unfortunately, the reception staff's attitude was also unprofessional. They often didn't greet you unless you greeted them first, they were constantly on their phones, avoided eye contact, and acted indifferently towards guests. Therefore, you didn't feel valued as a guest.
In conclusion, this hotel's price-performance ratio is definitely not good. While the cleanliness and breakfast were positive, they were insufficient compared to all the negative experiences I had. I absolutely do not recommend this hotel. Because of this experience, I will also be filing a formal complaint through Booking.com.

Nice accommodation
The property was very centrally located, and the rooms were clean. It's just a few minutes from the sea. I would have liked there to be more variety at breakfast; it was a bit limited. There was a minor issue regarding the accommodation fee due to exchange rate differences, but the hotel management handled the situation constructively and did not cause any inconvenience. Thank you.

clean and comfortable accommodation
The hotel is very close to Çalış beach, very clean, and the rooms are new and charming. We stayed for 3 nights and were satisfied. The breakfast has a wide variety and is reasonably priced; it's a good choice.
