AMAZING: fell on the street and eli came to rescue me!
love eli so nice and helpful. all love!! i feel and eli picked me up and cleaned my hands . he was genuinely sweet and caring. I highly recommend!

I want to briefly mention a situation during my stay that really disturbed me. I still can’t get over the shock of the cleaning staff entering my room without permission at 11:57, even though the checkout time was 12:00. I was already packed and about to leave, but since I still had 3 minutes, I wanted to make a phone call before heading out. However, at 11:52 the cleaning staff suddenly came into my room and told me to leave because “your checkout time has come,” using a tone and attitude that were extremely unpleasant. Even though I told her I was leaving, she didn’t respond and walked out of the room—only to barge in again 4 minutes later, this time shouting “just get out” in an even harsher tone.
What concerns me most is the clear lack of security. If a cleaning staff member can enter the room without knocking or permission while I’m inside, I worry about who might enter when I’m not there. This makes the hotel feel unsafe, and I strongly advise not leaving any valuables in the room.
Additionally, the cleanliness throughout my stay was very poor. Half-used items from previous guests were still in the fridge, the kettle was very dirty, and I don’t even want to mention the state of the bathroom. I have no idea how this place received its star rating. I was misled by the rating. don’t let the same happen to you.

It was great experience that histrical yet well renabated hotel located around very convenient new town Istanbul.You wll be surprised and enjoyed the bustle of the neighborhood.

Welcome to Istanbul!
• Location
The Pension is charming and is an old Istanbul building in the Beyoglu district. The location is 15min walk from Taksim (transport hub: bus, funicular, airport shuttle, metro), and Iskedal street is only 3min.
The bus stop Ömer Hayyam is only 130m away and allows you to get off at Eminonü in 20 min for example (several convenient lines pass there). Karakoy can be reached on foot in 15 min and Kabatas also (via the Taksim funicular).
The neighborhood is very lively at night (several clubs, shops and restaurants open late) and feels safe.
A MigrosJet (neighborhood supermarket) is located in one of the nearby streets and allows you to buy for example a water canister etc.
• Logement
I was in the studio with terrace on the top floor. It is the top floor and only accommodation on the floor. It is facing south. The terrace is very large (about 15m2) and has a table and 2 chairs, perfect for enjoying the sun or night:).
There is no lift but the receptionist makes it his duty to assemble your suitcase.
The studio was very clean, just a few small flaws requiring refreshment but which does not take anything away from the cleanliness.
The air conditioning works (I used in particular the mode "25°" and the mode "turbo 18°), you have to place yourself in front with the remote control.
The fridge works well (ideal for placing the 5L canister of water in the cool and / or storing fresh products), even with a small freezer.
Double glazing in the windows, which insulates many noise.
The door locks tightly, just push or pull a little (depending on the direction) to be able to turn the key without difficulty.
The hob and basic dishes are provided on request;)
Personally, I slept very well in bed.
• Personnel
The receptionist (who is the boss) uses a translation app when greeting you, which facilitates communication and avoids quid pro quos. I really enjoyed the customer service via WhatsApp (it responds during the day very quickly including Sunday) and again, uses a translation app, which is welcome.

Noisy, Dirty and unsafe for kids
I recently stayed at the New Pera Hotel for 4 nights and I do not recommend it.
A lot of the reviews here mention the noise levels and I thought I was prepared for it but I landed on a weekend and the party was on till 3am and it was extremely noisy.
There were cockroaches next to the basin and cleanliness is not much of a concept.
On the last day, the entire table collapsed on top of my 10 year old son and it was a miracle he wasn’t seriously injured but his shoulder was paining. What annoyed me is the complete lack of empathy - not once did they ask me - is your son ok ? Do you need anything.
When I mentioned my son has shoulder pain - they fought back saying the table has 15 screws and that it was my son’s fault it fell down and that they have footage of us leaving the hotel. I had no words - only shock on my face.
And all the positive reviews - soy can’t be sure how many of them are real because as you can see in the picture they offer discounts and freebies for giving positive reviews to New Pera Hotel.
If you have small kids or expecting to get a good night’s rest - just skip this place.
