Safe and sound
In a war, this is the place to be, friendly, very comfortable, solidly built, basement facilities, especially the bar away from the street. Great dorm rooms too with superb beds. My home from home three times now.

Ideal for an international traveller
This is my 2nd stay at Globe Runner this year. I wouldn’t stay anywhere else in Kyiv whilst the war continues. The staff instantly make you feel welcome, and are all very knowledgeable about the current situation.
Moreover, the reception is staffed 24hrs a day and the reception is located in the basement of the building. There is also a separate air raid shelter in a different room. All of these factors made me feel more comfortable during my stay.
The rooms are comfortable, and the bar next door was lively in the evenings. It is definitely somewhere you could connect with other travellers.
Globe Runner is also located in Zoloti Vorota, which is a fairly safe area of Kyiv. It is also only 5-10 minutes walk from Zoloti Vorota metro station.

On the expensive side but well worth it
I stayed here for 4 nights in March 2025 during a trip to Kyiv to see friends.
A paid for a private double room. The hostel does have shared rooms, which were much cheaper, but I wanted my own space. As a result, a paid a significant premium for the room. This hostel in not cheap in comparison to competitors in Kyiv.
However, the central location of Globe Runner makes it a great base to explore the city. It is located a 5-10 minute walk from the Golden Gate monument (with access to Zoloti Vorota and Teatralna metro stations). Many of the central attractions in Kyiv are within walking distance or easily accessible by bus or metro.
Also, the staff are incredibly friendly and understanding. I accidentally booked 3 nights instead of 4 nights. I did not have to pay a fine; instead the staff called me to explain the situation and they were happy for me to pay the bill for the extra night at reception without moving my belongings to another room. They made my stay seamless and I felt very welcome.
It was interesting to hear some of the staff talk about their personal experience of the full scale invasion. I was grateful to hear their perspectives.
Globe Runner has lots of space for co-working, and seemed to attract many guests working remotely during my stay. There is also a cafe next door with direct access from the hostel that serves great coffee and breakfast (I forgot the name of this place). It is also had a fully stocked bar and seemed lively in the evening.
Overall a great visit. I would recommend Globe Runner as a safe place to stay for any international visitor.

A hostel with class
Honestly one of the best places I have stayed. Excellent location, Central but quiet, rooms clean and spacious but still funky, building beautiful, staff excellent. Costs a little more than other hostels but it is absolutely worth it.

Amazing Experience. Top Notch Hostel.
