small, fine boutique hotel

The public spaces and rooms are very tastefully decorated. You immediately feel comfortable upon arrival The pool area cozy with many seating. We had a superior room overlooking the sea; on the terrace there is a lounger and two comfortable armchairs available. Bicycle and golf car rental super convenient to get to the restaurants/shops. It's nice that breakfast is also brought to the room. Compared to other hotels in Uruguay, the breakfast offer could be a bit wider.

Boho Chic Jose Ignacio

This is a wonderful boutique little hotel in the heart of Jose Ignazio within walking distance of Solera Wine Bar and Lahuella. It operates very much on a trust basis with a charming honesty bar and an open door policy. The rooms are gorgeous, comfortable with great bathrooms and the plunge pool is lovely, set in pretty gardens. The staff are great. Breakfast - served anywhere anytime - is continental and fresh - and staff can rustle up snacks in the form of omelettes and sandwiches. The coffee is the best I’ve ever had. We loved the use of golf buggies for buzzing into town! Winner.

An absolutely cool & charming place

We went there to spent a couple of days on the famous beaches of Jose Ignazo. The concept of this bed&breakfast is "being at home" and that is how everyone is treated. Very friendly, open minded and someone is always around just in case you have a question. We have loved this place. Nevertheless we think there is -taking value for money into account- some room for little improvements (e.g. complementary bottle of water, candke lights for the veranda or a flower for your room). But those are only little things. This is a place to come back.

A great place to unwind...

Overlooking one of Jose Ignacia's sensational beaches, the Posada del Faro was a great place to relax and unwind after travelling around Argentina. The local airport is a 40-minute flight from Buenos Aires and the hotel is an hour further on in a hire car. It is an easy journey on excellent, well-signed roads.
Our room was large and comfortable with a first floor balcony overlooking the beach - a great vantage point to see the wonderful sunsets.
Wi-Fi was good throughout, there is a well-stocked honesty bar, a dipping pool and efficient, friendly staff. Breakfasts were continental in style but large with freshly-baked breads, a selection of fresh fruit, fresh orange juice and local yogurt.
The posada is on the edge of the community which has only recently been established and it appears to be established for the well-off of the region. Magnificent homes - all newly built - are dotted around both the community (too small to call a town and certainly not a village) and the coastline. There is also a lot of building work going on. Estate agents and design shops dot key sights.
When we were there, the amount of construction meant there was inevitable noise when travelling around although little could be heard from the posada.
We were there at the beginning of December which is very much the start of the season and many of the restaurants and bars were closed which was disappointing. However, those that were open were excellent, if more expensive than elsewhere in Uruguay. The local fish was superb.
Most of the restaurants are an easy 10-minute walk from the posada although there are carts and bikes available at the hotel for those wanting an easier journey. There are also towels, chairs and umbrellas for the beach.
Indeed, beach walks are a 'must' as those on both sides of Jose Ignacia are superb with mostly crashing surf-waves although there are points where it is safe to swim. The beaches are massive and wide expanses with plenty of dunes providing protection from the often bracing winds. On one walk a baby seal came down the beach infront of us and entered the sea.
It was a truly memorable stay and the posada was an ideal base although do check that Jose Ignacia is actually 'open' and not still slumbering as when we were there.
One crucial piece of advice if travelling from the UK, take dollars or Euros or load your travel credit card (such as Revolut) as Sterling is deemed a very poor relation here.

Nice hotel resort empty

I dont think there are many hotels in Jose Ignacia, didnt see many .Stayed three nights midweek early December the hotel was not busy only a few rooms were occupied, this changed on Friday when presumably weekenders turned up
This hotel is not cheap. What it has in its favour is a lovely view over the sea and comfortable rooms. The breakfast was very good you could have it in a small downstairs dining room or by the pool or in your room. There was very little noise. However during the day, there was some passing construction traffic. If beach walking is your thing you will not be disappointed you can walk miles along beautiful sandy beaches without hordes of tourists However I understand Christmas, new year and January are very busy. Two things which slightly affected our stay was cool windy weather so we did not use the pool and an empty resort. We managed to find one good resturant open at night which was about 15/20 mins walk away down by the lighthouse, most restaurants were shut midweek but opened Friday as the resort and hotel got busier. Staff were good and helpful. Two tips go for an upstairs room with balcony so you get a better view. Buy bottled water in the supermarket the hotel price I think is excessive, it should be included in the price
